had a reservation, but was told there would be a 20 minute wait, no apologies. once seated seated in a remote dark corner, never given menus or had opportunity to order drinks, and we asked 3 times- waited 45 minutes before our waiter said he would have to move us to another table to accomodate a large party- then no table was available and we were told to wait at bar- after nearly one hour of no service we left.

I was pleasantly surprised by Il Bastardo when I dined there last evening for the first time. Although a bit noisy by the bar the back room is very private with warm exposed brick and candlelight. The portions were extremely generous for the price and the food was delicious. Would defintley recommend for a date.

I eat here all the time. The pre-fix lunch/ eraly bird dinner is one of the best values in the city. Food is delicious and for the most part service is good. Excellent before the Joyce or near by movie theatre. The only problem is that it is VERY DARK. Makes reading the menu a challenge. Bathrooms are very cool...

This restaurant is down the street from my house. I ordered delivery and was told a "maximum of 45 minutes". I called back 45 minutes later and they said that they thought the food had "probably left by now" and would be there in 10 minutes or so. I asked why they told me "a maximum of 45 minutes" if it was going to be more like an hour and they had no reason to give. the manager said to call back in 10 minutes if it hadn't arrived. 15 minutes later it still hadn't arrived and I called back and they had nothing to say except sorry. This restaurant, whether via delivery or in-person is disappointing. The dining room is massive and devoid of any warm personality- you feel more like you're in a failed nightclub than a successful restaurant.

Tried this place last night for a quaint family dinner. We each got a different pasta and every single one was absolutely delicious. I got the tortellini gratinati (loved every bite), but got to sample my counterparts lasagna, ravioli alla vodka (the sauce was fab) and hands down the best dish on the table was the penne alla puttanesca - which is often a tell-tale sign of a good italian restaurant as puttanesca can often be made overwhelming. Hazelnut cream puffs also tasty. Service was good/attentive early on but towards the end when we were ready to leave it took a little while for us to find the waitress, get the check from her and then have her come back and take it. Also, though I guess this is the case with most trendy-esque new restaurants, the surrounding tables got really really loud. That didn't bother me that much though, and don't let it throw you, this place is a MUST TRY!!!!!

I'm not sure what the reviewer below is talking about but I was just at this restaurant last week and it was open and packed! The food is amazing! Favorites include the crabcake appetizer, all the pastas are great, skirt steak, filet mignon, ad the scallops. Yummy. The prices are just right!Try the Sangria, so tasty! The service is great. This place used to be a cub/lounge and you can tell by the space, they've done an amazing job with setting up some great atmosphere! Will continue to go regularly!!!
