The food quality seems to have gone down... and the service, on a slow mid-Sunday afternoon was completely deplorable.... or perhaps it was just that our server preferred to chat and flirt with the hostess... Requested check 3 times - each time he acknowledged us and continued to speak with the server, laugh and smile. Not going back and will definitely not recommend to any friends in the future.

I used to love this restaurant but lately seems like it's going down. I heard it might close soon and based on my experience it should. The food was disappointing, I could have cooked better home! The atmosphere lacks of soul and that might be because all the good staff members left this place, probably because they were not making good money anymore. Now they are left with only the staff members that could not find a job anywhere else. I miss my favorite waiter Jaime and I miss the whole warm atmosphere that once was there. Tonight I was greeted poorly from my first step into this restaurant and from there it just got worse. I doubt I will be back, and I doubt my friends will either. This is sad, one of my favorite places is gone and this is makes me very sad. Oh well I'm sure I will find another good restaurant in Chelsea anyways:)

The space is very pretty, but very noisy and so dark we needed 4 candles to try and read the menu. Service was blase and very inattentive. The waiter looked like he had been a waiter far too long to be good at it any more. Our request for more bread was ignored by the server; when I flagged down the bread server he looked at me like I was asking for blood. Otherwise, rather small unexciting portions. We would have stayed for dessert had the waiter shown any interest in taking that order.

Having spent a lot of time in Italy, I admit that I've become a bit of a food snob. I love all types of food but find that I'm often disappointed by Italian food in NYC. I've found that it's usually mediocre. However, a friend suggested this place and we went on a Monday night for the prix fixe dinner and it was surprisingly good. Everything was perfectly cooked; an app of grilled vegies were not undercooked nor overcooked, and my pasta dish was al dente and tasty. The service was also very good. They kept our glasses filled and were attentive but not too much "in your face". I would definitely go back again.

Having gotten meals delivered from this restaurant 5 or 6 times in the past, and finding the food excellent, I was especially disappointed in my first (and probably last) actual visit. Initially the service was good, as the staff noticed on their own that our table was wobbling, and both the busboy and server tried to fix it, and when they couldn't, offered to seat us at a different table. And the space is beautiful. However, things went downhill from there. While pouring us water, the busboy spilled it on the floor and on my foot. When I said something, he replied "it's just water", and never apologized. Then, not seeing the goat cheese & cauliflower gratin that I love from there on the menu, I asked the server about it and she curtly answered that they didn't have it that night and that is why it wasn't on the menu. She also never told us the specials. I ordered my other favorite from there: veal saltimbocca, but I couldn't believe when it arrived in a very salty tomato sauce. Although the hazlenut gelato was wonderful, it wasn't enough to make up for the poor service, and just okay food.

I would highly recommend this restaurant; in fact I plan to bring a group of co-workers for a going away party for one. The Mussel al Vino was delicious. I love salmon but hesitate ordering it out since it is always dry but I gave it a try being it was my first time at this restaurant, I am pleased I did the salmon was exquisite.

The place is very loud. The wine list is very good. The pastas are tasty but a little over cooked. I have had better red sauces. Seems as if the pasta is made and then just blast heated. The prices are honest here. There are better Italian places but I'd be back if in the area.
