    GREAT FOOD

this is a great small local restaurant with GREAT fresh sushi. i go here about once a month and everytime i get some of the best sushi that i have ever had. though it is a little expensive, the posrtions of individual pieces of sushi are rather large compared to some other local restaurants in the upper east side. they also have a lot of great cooked foods such as the chiken and salmon terryiaki. i would defiently recomend this place to anyone who is looking for a very nice, local restaurant with great food.

    Great local japanese

This local japanese restaurant is a find. the sushi is always fresh. the kitchen cooked food is fantastic. it is owned by japanese, not like some other so called japanese restaurants that are owned by chinese and cater to a young crowd that have no clue about sushi. try it.

    An expensive disappointment!

Ever want some good food and willing to try something new? Always pass this place and have read good things about it. What a HUGE disappointment. Not only was it big prices for bad food, but it was not even mediocre. For ambiance it has none.... Sushi wrapped in plastic wrap in the cooler (always a bad sign). Ordered a good mix of cooked and sushi.. Teriyaki sauce was written about yet tasted bland. If you want good food at these prices go to Haru up the block and you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for fresh, nice sized sushi without any ambiance go to Umi. This place disappoints in all areas!!!! Makes you feel bad you ate here and spent Lexington Ave prices for nothing.
