Iguana New York

A store clerk recommended the Iguana to my friend and I for lunch so we decided to give it a try. And it was well worth it! We were surprised by the very attractive decor and even more surprised how quiet it was for 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The service was excellent and as described by an earlier review, attentive without being obtrusive. We started our meal with the nachos and enjoyed both the delicious flavors and the very attractive presentation. My friend had the steak fajitas and loved them. I had the chicken burritos and they were the best I've ever had. The homemade tortillas were a welcome surprise and the entire meal was delicious. The Iguana is definitely worth repeat visits!

Looking forward to the visit to Iquana's I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. However, we were seated next to a rather large party of people having drinks and appetizers in a buffet style, the noise level was very loud and made talking for us rather hard. The food was very good we had fish tacos, they were large portions, and nicely presented. A great side dish of spinach (highly recommend) was my highlight of the dinner. The guacamole made tableside was wonderful. We asked for a little spicy and it came out very spicy so be careful. All and all it is worth a try.

After searching for a Mexican restaurant to enjoy and experience we chose the IGUANA as a place were we could have a good Mexican meal. This restaurant was rated as a 9.3 - after experiencing Iguana tonight my first comment is disapointment - since when has cole slaw coupled with quesadillas has ever been considered Mexican? After my party of four (4) was kept waiting for at least an hour to be seated/waited on it should have been apparent that something was wrong. The staff was not as attentive as you would expect. After hailing down someone to wait on us we were served the guacamole , I was pleasantly surprised at the manner that this dish was presented and tasted. After that it took over an hour for the head waiter to acknowledge that we were still not served. I was extremely disapointed in the presentation, taste and overall service recieved at this establihment and would not recommend it if you are looking for a place where the guest is a priority.

Great date atmosphere. Food was good, service was great, pitcher of margaritas for $38 was well worth it! Delicious and you get a couple more than you would at $8 a pop. Went on a Saturday night without reservations and we were seated - at a great table - immediately. Salsa a little bland, but they do make guacamole fresh at your table, if you are willing to pay the extra $10. All in all, this place was a good value, cool atmosphere, great food presentation, and I would def. recommend.

For a great time..don't pass up this place...great food..and the best was the dancefloor downstairs...we worked off the calories we put on upstairs..can't wait to do it again!

Had an early dinner on a Saturday when they weren't too busy yet. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food from appetizer to dessert was wonderful. We ordered primarily from the specials menu and were not disappointed. Everything we had was yummy. The best part was the bill - under $100 including a cocktail and wine by the glass. Unheard of in Manhattan! We will definitely be back and will tell our friends.

Great meal, good service, quiet, spacious, light and airy. Mexican at its best!
