Ido Sushi is one of the best in the City. We loved the great food, casual environment and incredibly friendly staff. If you enjoy sushi, you need to check this place out!

I eat in restaurants often..mostly 3 star and above rated don't missers...i took a friends advice and went to the low 7th ave. location...I was greeted so friendly and immediately shown to a table. I love the decor. so eye appealing...after just reading some poor reviews on fish and on price i was compelled to set them straight. i ate food equivilent to that of the few greats of the city..Tora is now one of them. I ordered mostly sashimi at first..what better way to judge a restaurant..i was blown away when the toro(bluefin) came in front of me...so deeply richly red..at first i was a little curious..very red sometimes(in other places) means too much blood in it. it can taste of bit pungeont. this fish was so buttery and smooth..i was so excited with the first feel of it over my lips that i almost swallowed it. talk about value...i asked for 2 pieces and received four..when I asked if they mis heard me they said no...that's what we serve for 2 pieces...it's actually four..other restaurants cut them so big and incorrect..we cut them how they should but want our guests to have the same portions as our competitors..nice!! much better cut the right way!! so after being just as happy with my salmon, tuna, young yellowtail and white tuna..i asked the chef Tora to reccomend a roll...He made me a roll that i dream about..i can't remember the name but it had shrimp tempora and crab inside with lettuce..on top was this creamy spicy concoction the consisted of tuna and yellowtail..don't know how it could taste so so so so good...my friend and i was also so surprised by the wide selection of cold premium sake that they offer..Tora and Jane..you obviously love what you do and you both and all staff do it so well..To talk about price..for the 2 of us yes it was alot..almost 200 dollars...It would of been 4 if we ate Nobu or Masa like the king and queen that we did..200 dollars for a 5 star meal...bargain...though, from what i saw of the menu...the prices of all the items were far

I went to lunch there today because I was craving sushi. The food was spectacular. I started with the mango and avacado salad and then I had to have the Big O roll after reading the reviews. Best lunch I've had in a long time. Super fresh fish. Slightly expensive, but I'm worth it !

This has to be the best sushi I have ever had. Granted, I have never been to Japan, but this far outweighs any of the "good" sushi places I have been to in the past (NY/NJ/Boston). I had the Big O roll as recommended on here - very yummy. I also ordered a special for the day - the Two Tune Tuna Roll - absolutely scrumptious, bar none. The spicy crab salad was delish as well. I am sure I will never have sushi like that again unless I make lots of excuses to visit my friends who live nearby. The service was impeccable. The place is small, but we went on a Saturday night and it was not crowded, which was surprising. Everyone must have been at the trendy place up the street, which, according to my local crew, was not nearly as good as Ido. I highly recommend checking this place out (and don't forget the plum wine)! Prices were similar to the place I order from on the Island but the food was far superior.

I was introduced to Ido Sushi by a friend of mine that lived in the neighborhood within the first couple months of their opening. I have been going there regularly ever since. Tora is amazing, he always remembers what I like and always has something new and interesting to try. The service is great and it has a friendly warm atmosphere that most New York restaurants are lacking. Of course the sushi is excellent. Normally you cannot get sushi this good for the price they are offering it.

I followed them from Staten Island and would follow them to the ends of the earth! Ido is my favorite restaurant. The food is fresh, the staff is wonderful and the Big "O" roll makes me want to cry! You cannot go wrong with Ido.
