and don't take that the wrong way... it's just hands down that good, and really inexpensive. Seared yellowtail roll with jalapenos could be the best roll in all of manhattan. two dollar pieces of sushi that is to die for... they deliver to me down in tribeca which i wish i knew years ago. i've only been getting it delivery to my office in the west village...

The best sushi I've had outside of Japan. Honestly comparable to the higher restaurants of Manhattan (Blue Ribbon, Bond St., etc.), with a great selection, superb freshness, and a massive amount of innovation in maki and specials. It is a bit more expensive than an average-night-out sushi dinner, but for the quality, you won't find a better deal. The service is spectacular, and the waiters and chef knowledgable and more than happy to help and give recommendations based upon taste, not price. The only downside: the decor is decidedly average. It is not bad, by any means, but it is definitely not what keeps me coming back. If you like Sushi, you owe it to yourself to take a trip to this smaller restaurant in the West Village. Superb!

This place is very solid. I work on morton st, down the block, so i order take out here a lot. I went for the first time last week. A little different then the takeout menu. The place is nice as well. They gave me a free seared tuna appetizer. In the west village- i usually order from here or Kawa's. I haven't figured out which i like better. You definitely get more bang for the buck at Ido- but Kawa's crab is hands down great. If i have time and i feel like waiting on line, nothing beats tomoi in soho- no take out though, and there is a line. I almost opened a sushi place a few years ago, so i've been to most places in the city. if your on the east side-- mizu on 20th st-- top notch as well.

I eat sushi pretty regularly and thought I'd try this local spot. Though it is a cute restaurant, the sushi itself is poor. I had the 2 roll lunch special and both were sub-par. (I found about 6 bones in my first bite of my eel roll). You can tell by looking at the rolls that is it poor quality meat. Also, many lunch specials in the city come with both Misco and a salad, however you have to choose here. I would not go back here, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

I don’t understand why this place is popular. I ordered tekka don: the rice was dry, and the tekka was B-grade stuff. They charge $21.70 for this under-qualified meal! One can find much better tekka in Japanese grocery stores for less than half the price. Maybe the food in Ido is fine to the standard of the Americans, but definitely not so to that of ethnic Japanese.

i'm pretty picky when it comes to sushi. i ordered about a 12 pieces of sushi and a roll. The fish was definitely very good. They need a little work making the rice better. not just better prepared, but the rice should be a bit bigger under the fish and should have some wasabi on it. Told you i was picky. The sushi was good-- nice sized pieces. Didn't love the shrimp gyoza, but it was the same stuff you get most places..... tuna was average ok. toro was really good. i liked the king crab and the salmon. yellow tail was really good as well. The hot summer roll was also pretty good, although a bit small. delivered in 25 minutes.

After hearing great feedback from friends, my husband and I tried Ido Sushi. The high quality fish was comparable to Nobu, Tomoe Sushi and better than Bond Street & Tao. The toro was buttery and flavorful. The oysters were supurb. The white tuna was the best I have had in NYC. They do cut sashimi, 4 slices if you order two, so you get more for the money. I would highly recommend the chucky spicy tuna salad and the seared tuna roll. Both very unique and delicious. This place will surprise you and you will keep going back!
