Bad food and service
They serve stinky fish. I even asked the waiter before I ordered to make sure the fish came in that day. He gave me a very long speech explaining how fresh their fish is. Anyway it came completely inedible. I also ordered a couple of very nice red wines for our table. After our waiter opened the bottle and poured me a glass he said, this won't go with your meal at all. I'm assuming he was trying to sell me a white wine but after ordering two very expensive bottles from him I was quite annoyed by this comment. Also the bartender, when I was inquiring about his wines by the glass, was very quick with me (even though I was the only person sitting at the bar) and flippantly recommended the most expensive glass at $20. It was annoying as I was trying to get some sense of the different types they were offering. I would not go back here.

This was the worst dinner I've had in NYC in 14 years of living here and entertaining business clients often. There was nothing I ate over 4 courses that I would ever make me come back to this restaurant. Sad antipasti, tough gnocchi, worst chicken of my life and dessert that was ho-hum. Topped off by lousy coffee and overly marked up cheap wine. Skip it, spend your money somewhere else.

Restaurant Week
I was very happy with the service, but very disappointed with the antipasto choices on their Restaurant Week Dinner Menu-limited and the Arugula Salad was tasteless--a lot of arugula! And it didn't appear that this was offered on their regular menu? The cous cous that came with the sword fish was delicious, but the swordfish was tasteless. The dessert offerings were limited. I thought they could have offered a plain sorbet that was on their regular menu, but it was not offered on the Restaurant Menu. With all of the great restaurants in New York, I would not return to i Trulli. I feel that they used the Restaurant Week Menu to draw people in, but if they were wise, they would have offered their best food, not the poorest, to have their new customers return.

Best Service in NYC
Went on a Saturday night and the experience was spectacular! The food was magnificent and reminded me of a favorite restaurant back home (in Italy). Panelle appetizer tasted just like my nonna's. And the service was just fantastic. We never had to ask for a water or wine refill and they made amazing suggestions on menu items. I will be returning

Highly Recommended!
Wow, how pleasantly surprising was the Restaurant Week discovery. My boyfriend and I went in with the intention of trying the restaurant week menu. While the items on the restaurant week menu appeared tasty, we became more interested in the vast selection on their main dinner menu. We tried a variety of dishes. Everything was fantastic. I plan to dine there again really soon, perhaps tonight. I strongly advise and recommend that you do too!

The best baby calzone appetizer, ever!
I have been to I Trulli several times for both lunch and dinner. The food and service have always been exceptional. Just Luck? I think not. A great dining experience enhanced when the weather is nice, so you can enjoy the outside area. I would highly recommend I Trulli!!

Romantic Night Success
I reserved a romantic table for two to take my girlfriend out to celebrate her 25th birthday. I asked for a romantic table and we got a very cozy corner table for two with a view of a beautiful courtyard. We were both very impressed with the level of care the staff had to our requests. Water glasses were always full, champagne glasses were never allowed to be empty and the food came out seamlessly from appetizers to main course to dessert to coffee. The food was absolutely delicious! Baby calzones and the special of the day scallops made a lovely appetizer. Main course of delicious mackerel and amazing cod fish dish. All complimented with an absolutely wonderful champagne suggested by the staff. Amazing night out. Highly recommended!
