Would definately go back!
Had a great meal. The chilean seabass was awesome, homemade pasta was great. The server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice. We were there on a beautiful night and the fresh air from the open outdoors added to the night.

Not recommended
Passing by on the way to the movies, the menu looked interesting enough to try. While the cocktails were good - everything else was disappointing. Small portions, tasteless sauce, wine rather expensive for its quality. There are better alternatives in the area...

No!
Do yourself a favor and eat someplace else! Tiny potions for way too much money. Cheapest bottle of wine was $42 and it was nothing to rave about. Had to ask for the pumping, beat box music to be turned down so i could have a conversation. The bread was hard and cold and I've had better lasagna out of a box. go to Arturo's on Houston St instead

Friendly service, skip the dessert
Went here with a large group for a friend's birthday. We ordered several types of antipasti (focaccia, octopus, etc.), all were good. Had the porcini ravioli w/ truffle sauce, very delicious, but small portions--5 pieces. Better to get their truffle pizza, which is large. Tried the tiramisu; did not taste fresh. The staff was courteous, and let us sample the wine. The wine was crisp and delicious, and kept chilled in a bucket of ice. The waitress kept our glasses full. Don't be confused by the address--it is not on Broadway, but WEST Broadway, 4 blocks west.

Excellent Food - absolutely nice service
We are from Switzerland.Last week we were in N.Y.C. As we already knew the I3Merli in Genoa, we have been curious to test the one in N.Y. Well, the food is excellent. A special prize to the typical Genovese-style food, lasagne with pesto and the focaccia. Only a suggestion: could the codfish be Genovese style, instead of Venetian style?. . As far as the service is concerned, well the two guys from Italy are really very nice and courteous, though their American Language is not at the top! Courtesy and simpathy support their "imperfect" American greately! We shall be again in N.Y. in Spring and will not fail to come to I3Merli again. The ambiance is very warm and intimate.

I Tre Merli 2.0!!!
I was already a regular customer and fan of this wonderful Soho staple, but only just revisited it after its complete makeover, and was thoroughly impressed! Delicious new menu, full of delectable small dishes, perfect for sharing with friends. And the pizza was excellent too!! I was pleased to see some of my favorite old dishes were still on the menu, while some new must-tries include the langostine appetizer and the snapper crudo, along with the terrific selection of cheeses, cured meats, and veggie sides. The atmosphere and staff have undergone an all-around face-lift as well. I will definitely be back again and again and again!

Great food with a big caveat
The food at this lovely little Soho gem was absolutely darling. I have eaten at all restaurants in the area and I found the cuisine to be succulent even after I was drunk. However, be forewarned: The inexperienced staff served white wine in RED WINE GLASSES! What do they think this is, Detriot?
