I Coppi is a rustic and authentic Tuscan restaurant located in the East Village, owned and operated by Lorella Innocenti and her husband John Brennan, which opened in September 1998. Lorella brought her mother Alberta Innocenti, a home cook from Pistoia in Tuscany, to create a seasonal menu featuring specialties from generations of Italian family recipies. Maristella Innocenti arrived from Florence in 1999 to join her sister in running the restaurant and soon after moved into the kitchen as head chef to faithfully reproduce her family recipes. She prepares food like its prepared in the home, not like what you find in most Italian restaurants. One of the most charming elements of the restaurants is its beautifuly arranged back garden. Tucked away in the east village, I Coppi gives you the romantic seeting you will need for an evening to remember. Come join us!

Disappointed
Went here after discovering my old standby east village Italian had closed. The place is nice and the service was decent, BUT -- got the eggplant antipasti - it was good, but come on, one small slice of eggplant for $11 -- since when is eggplant so precious? The gorgonzola salad had no gorgonzola cheese, the seafood in the Spaghetti Allo Scoglio was ALL overcooked, and the cannellini beans with olive oil side order was canned beans They gave us the check before asking if we wanted coffee or dessert (even though no one was waiting for a table...) Save your money - There are too many really good restaurants in that neighborhood

Mouth watering just thinking about it!
Me and my husband went here for our anniversary and almost did not go in because no one was in there. Until we went out to their beautiful garden and it was packed. He had the gnocchi with gin and crab meat, TO DIE FOR! I had the shrimp risotto which was amazing! It was pricey so we can only go there on special occassions, so now I need to come up with some excuses! We also had a dessert of pear and apple pie with vanilla ice cream... delicious!

Maybe they had a bad night
First time dining here. Perhaps the preparers were having a bad night. The appetizers didn't have any salt, while my seafood stew was so incredibly salty that I wasn't able to finish it. May try it one more time in the future just in case it was a one-off event.

Good food, Exquisite service
The food was pretty good. We had the gnocchi and a lobster pasta special and both were great. The carpaccio appetizer had some olive oil on it that made it stick to the plate. The prices were decent - just over $100 (not incl. tip) for 2 entrees, 2 appetizers and a bottle of wine. The service was absolutely amazing. Everyone seemed very interested in ensuring that we had an enjoyable experience.

Get the Seafood Stew
The seafood stew is incredible. I think my husband and I will be back for eat at least once a month. In fat all of the food here is wonderful and the service is great. Very cute place and if you can get a table int he garden you are super lucky - it's beautiful!

pleased
Went on a second date there on a Thursday evening. Very good service, which might have something to do with their appreciating the business in a bad economy. Would have liked to have sat outside in the garden, but they didn't make it available. Food was good, not spectacular but good. $72 for 2 people, no appetizer or alcohol, just a couple of entrees. I will go back, but it's not the place I'll go if I'm trying to impress anyone.
