Awesome brunch
Really awesome brunch at Hundred Acres. Do NOT miss their pancakes, they're tops. Also, their homemade sausage is great. The eggs benedict are solid.

All around good experience.
I have to say I wasn't completely sure what to expect, but the food was delicious. You won't leave stuffed, but satisfied. The scallop appetizer was perfectly cooked, and the swordfish had a great taste. I could have lived without what it was served with. But all in all a good meal. I wouldn't go so far as to say a great value-but not terrible either.

Not bad, but narrow menu and "interesting" combos
I took my husband here for his birthday, Sunday brunch. Good news first: we were promptly seated (though we had a reservation for right when they opened), the service was nicely attentive, the coffee was great & our cups were frequently refilled, and it was nice to see the manager strolling around and overseeing the floor, even with only 4 tables first thing in the AM. Not so good news: The menu was a little heavy on the egg dishes, and my husband commented on some unappetizing food combinations. I can usually find something that I really want but didn't find that here. We both ordered the soup du jour, which was a vegetarian onion soup with escarole and white beans. It was good but a little pricey at $8/bowl. I ordered the Acres Scramble which was very tasty and the eggs were cooked very well; the side salad with the dish was good but my cornbread was cold. Had imagined it would be warm, but I was full from everything else that I didn't ask them to warm it. My husband had the poached eggs with housemade sausage patties and jalapeno grits. He said it was good but nothing to write home about. I tasted the grits but didn't care for them. The coffee was great and so was the service, all the way through. I agree with the person who said the acoustics are horrible; it gets way too loud in there. But if you want decently good food, good coffee, and a scene, I would recommend it. I'm looking forward to trying the sister restaurant Five Points.

Out of this World Brunch
Menupages recommended this place to me when Jan was booked for brunch. I am so glad we went there. The jalapeno grits are phenomenal and with 5 different bloody marys I'm not sure how you can go wrong. Try the Creole, you will be glad you did!

Overpriced and merely average food
We were there for lunch recently and were surprised to see a burger for $18. I got the Rock Shrimp Poboy and my wife got the pork salad. At $17 the Poboy was bad. I lived in Louisiana for a few years & this wasn't like any authentic poboy. It was fried rockshrimp between a round bun of bread with a lil bit of tartar sauce. They'll be better off serving the rock shrimp by itself a la Nobu. The pork salad was ok but again at ~$16 it was overpriced and this was lunch! We were really disappointed by this place. I suspect that the rent on this big space in Soho is so much that one is forced to raise the price point. Right now there's a complete mismatch between quality and price.

Go for brunch, not for dinner
I was disapointed with my dinner at Hundred Acres. It was all very normal food, and the menu was more than half fish dishes. The special was almost identical to something already on the menu. What happened to the rabbit dish I read about in reviews? Also, it was a little too much of a 'scene' for my taste. Brunch, however, was excellent. I had a delicious scrambled eggs dish and it was really laid-back at that time.

You people are crazy!
I ventured to Hundred Acres for the first time last week and loved it. My reservation was for 8:15 and as I was the first to arrive, the hostess offered me a seat at the bar while I was waiting. The bartenders were incredibly tentative and offered to make a specialty cocktail as I wasn't in the mood for anything on the menu. My table was in the second room with the white subway tile, and contrary to review, I thought the sounds level was very low even though the place was fully packed. Reading these reviews, you would think you need a loudspeaker to talk across the table. Ambiance was great (low lighting, modern art mixed with rustic country) and the menu, though limited, was creative and deliucious. All portions a great size - highly recomend the fried green tomatoes and blueberry pie. My only critique would be the service. Although the waiter was great, courses took too long to arrive.
