I'm not sure why the reviews aren't higher for Hunan Delight. It's the only place I've eaten in Brooklyn that serves high quality Chinese food. I've been eating and ordering from here for over five years and it's an easy recommend.

I love their hot and sour soup. I haven't had better h&s anywhere else. The food is pricey! But, with that said, you don't taste an abundance of oil and they don't use MSG. Many many vegetarian options, even though my group is usually a mix of carnivores too. The food tastes better quality, unlike some of the hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants around Brooklyn. The owner is a sweetheart. And the atmosphere is alright, if you bring a group it's nice. But it's oddly quiet with dim lighting, you'd expect it to be a hookah bar the way it's set up.

I finally ordered from Hunan Delight for the first time after walking by for the last two years. The food came fast, hot and very good. My food was good quality, the fried rice was nice and brown with plenty of pork. The egg roll was crunchy (could use a better filling) and my wonton soup was delicately flavored and not oddly yellow like some other places. The chicken was big meaty pieces of goodness. YUM!

I'm a fan! When I order delivery they're polite, fast and clear on the phone and food shows up quickly. Also major plus for me they deliver to Clinton Hill. They make the BEST sweet and sour pork I've found in Brooklyn. Huge pieces of clean, lean pork. The fried rice is great too.

Overall it was just okay - the scallion pancakes were too greasy for my liking (I couldn't finish the piece I tried, my husband ate all the others) The veggie chicken mushu was pretty good if not for the thick pancakes, more like flour tortilla than the airy thin rice pancakes I'm used to. The green bean with bean curd stood out as the best dish we ordered. Despite the mediocrity in the food we had I'll probably give them another try, see what else the menu has to offer. On the plus side the staff was friendly and attentive, providing timely service and the place itself was comfortable.

This place used to be my favorite chinese food in town but I am sad to say that the quality has severely declined over the years. I've lived in the north slope my whole life so I've tried all the different places, many times. What I realized is that when this place renovated a few years ago, that's when their quality started to decline, while their prices went up.
