Great Restaurant
We ordered in last night and were very pleased. The person on the phone was polite and helpful, and reviewed the order several times to be sure it was right. We ordered a few different things to sample. The pu pu platter was tasty(included yummy shrimp toast with wedges of lemon, crispy spring rolls, beef on stick marinated in their famous brown sauce, etc.).We loved the honey chicken(white meat)...it was so soft and sweet and mixed so well with the rice, even when reheated as a leftover. The shrimp roll was better than in other places. I love their thin crispy noodles(you have to request them or they also have the wide ones, depends what you prefer)... They even have ice cream for delivery (remind them to push down the ice cream as they fill it so the plastic container fills up all the way).I highly recommend this eatery which has been around for decades.

No better chinese takeout in Brooklyn!
I have lived in Bensonhurst then Gravesend and now Dyker Heights... I have tried all around me to find myself always driving back to Hunan Cottage for my family of 5 we all agree...It's worth my time and money to go back for the best chinese in Brooklyn! From the apps to soup to main dishes all are so tasty...And Best of all the people there are so nice!

Best for the Buck
This food is your normal Chinese with some special dishes but always consistently well prepared and the prices are EXCELLENT! You can't do better. Try their lobster made 4 different ways and all the old standbys are always delicious. Unless you want duck or special Dim Sim or some very unusual Sea Food, this is the place to go for good regular tasty Chinese Food.

Hot and sour, here I come!
Been customer for over 20 years now. Hot and Sour soup is the best there is, and I tried many in New York city and outer boroughs. It is light, hot, spicy and they do not use any pork in that soup! With pork, hot and sour soup turns into a greasy mess. Without pork it is what it should be - Chinese people actually use this soup to cure colds and rightfully so, your throat will feel burned and you will be sweating profusely, but this soup is the best.

Brooklyn's secret
I just moved into town after years in NYC and I can't believe that this charming little Chinese restaurant beats every Chinese restaurant in the city! Every dish is delicious. They give you great service with these crunchy homemade noodles and fresh duck sauce to die for on the table before your meal. All the dishes are authentic Chinese that tantalize your taste buds. They have vegetable egg rolls too and the best hot and sour soup ever.
