Good hummus but
Dine here frequently due to one location being next to my work and another location one block from my apartment. Other than a couple Middle Eastern restaurants, this is the best hummus I've ever consumed (have consumed it at hundreds of different restaurants.) The texture is smooth and creamy, the flavor excellent, and the freshness can't be beat (the hummus is constantly made throughout the day.) The side dishes on the other hand need some work. The grape leaves are the canned grape leaves that come from Turkey or Greece. You'd expect homemade for the price you are paying (3 dollars for four mini dolmas.) The health salad (cucumber and tomato) is ok, nothing special. It'd be nice to see an improvement on their side dishes as well as a price reduction. Speaking of price, all locations provided free pickles for years and then suddenly started charging for them. Another qualm I have is that if you order hummus for $5.99, the pita bread is free. If you order the 3 sides for $8.95, the pita costs extra. They should be providing the pita free for that option. Reason being, some people want some vegetables with their meal. A small hummus with two veggie sides, whole wheat pita is a perfectly balanced and nutritious meal but it will cost you additional for the pita and now an added cost for the pickles as well. While hummus is extremely healthy (packed with fiber, good carbs, good fats in tahini), unfortunately they offer cheese (high saturated fats) with eggs. This is not a problem, I don't expect every restaurant to offer only healthy foods. However, sign and menu discusses how healthy the food is. Well, it is if you order the hummus but not if you order two eggs with cheese melted on top. Criticisms aside, it remains one of the best places to get hummus and a healthy meal for around 12 dollars or less.

Great Humus, extra charges :-/
I love the humus at this place. I order here all the time and it's the BEST! Buuuut, for the past 5 months the attitude from staff and value at this eatery have steadily declined. The portions have dwindled to about half, and as another reviewer said they add all sorts of extra charges for things other restaurants will simply give for free (ie. pine nuts, egg, pita, olives?! 3 dollars?!). I am about to order from here again, because the humus is so damn good. I'll let you know.

poor service
we've gone since the beginning. my husband loves the food but every visit ends with me swearing i will not go back because the service is bad. the waitresses are incredibly rude! they mix up your order, or don't bring what you asked for, or make you wait an hour and serve people that came after you. and if you complain they say its not their problem. always new faces when i go in but always the same attitude. the owner must being choosing waitresses with no manners on purpose. and the prices on the salads don't make sense. ask for pine nuts in your hummus and you'll get 3 pinenuts and a $3 charge.

Seems to be changing
I commented here before because I love this place. However this week I went and the Sangria no longer had all the yummy fruit, it was much more ordinary. Also, the portions have definitely gotten smaller. While the hummus is still delicious, it seems that they might be cutting corners.

It's Still Delicious
Not sure what happened with the last commenter, but I go here 2 times/week and have never had a bad batch of hummus. It's still as good as it's always been. Get the lunch special: 7.50 for hummus with a side. Try to the garden salad. It's so good. No lettuce. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions, I think. So fresh and so yummy.

What happened?
I used to refer to this place as having the best hummus ever, but I got takeout from here last night and it just wasn't the same as it used to be! The hummus was thinner than usualalmost wateryand lacked the rich creaminess and bold tahini flavor that it usually has. Also, usually, the take out container is loaded almost to the top with the hummus, but this time, I felt like the portion almost shrank by half! I saw a couple new faces in the restaurant, so perhaps a change in staff is the reason, but I do hope they fix things and make the Hummus as good as it used to be! I am really hoping they were just having an off night.

Great hummus, bad name for a restaurant
I always avoided this place because the name sounded so generic and I thought the food would be too. However, I loved it and have eaten here 3 times in the past couple of months. It is really delicious and satisfying.I love that there are a few different ways to order it so it's not boring. The sangria is a wonderful surprise and the pita bread warm and fresh. The fig cookies are also a great way to end the meal. They also have that milky drink (can't remember the name) that is unusual and tasty. This turns out to be a great bargain and a solid vegetarian option. I just wish they had a better name so it didn't sound like a middle eastern version of Burger King.
