No Advised-Food Lacks Flavor
Even for cheap chinese this isn't tasty. I love some fast food chinese once in a while and this was a disappointment. The food lacks flakes flavor. They skimped on the sauce for my chicken and broccoli. If your someone who likes food this is not the places. The people who wrote the positive review have either a bland palate or no taste at all.

Not recommended
Although cheap, this restaurant is not worth the money. The service is extremely sub-par. I ordered using delivery, and the order was completely incorrect. When I called to complain, the woman was reluctant to bring me my correct order or provide me with compensation. When I received the food, it was more or less tasteless. With so many other comparatively priced options, there is no reason to choose this restaurant over any of the others.

Supremely Tasty
Have been eating here for years and cannot say a thing bad about the food at all. Plainly stated.

Rude service
My boyfriend I ordered from them recently and they slightly screwed up his order. Not a problem, he called and let them know and they said they'd send over the General Tso's chicken he'd ordered. But when the delivery guy got there, he started yelling at us and demanded to have back the food they'd originally sent. He was really mean about it. We'd been planning to tip him for his trouble, but forget that. All we wanted was what we'd ordered!

American Chinese at its Best
This is not *real* chinese food. It's the kind of Chinese food you get in America. And it's the best kind of American Chinese food. Great after a night out or as comfort food. Of the places in the area, this is the one to order from. Don't expect fancy food. If you expect something very tasty and a little too greasy, you'll get just want you want. The people on the phone are very nice. The delivery guys are great. Not an eat-in kind of place. It's American take-out/delivery Chinese at its best.

Great place
As a student at columbia university, i've eaten out all the time and ordered take out even more frequently. This place has by far the best general tso's and sweet and sour chicken in the area. its also cheap, and delivery is usually pretty fast, especially if u live in the columbia area as they know almost all the residence halls by name. i've ordered from here so often that when i call in and my phone number shows up on their caller id, they know where i want my order to be delivered to. other people may recommend concord garden or wai lee in the area but i stand by hunan chen's anyday.

Diamond in the rough
I live in the upper West side and the trek to China town for some good old fashion Chinese food is taxing. Fortunately for me, I stumbled into this place. The place is small but for the price and quality of the food, you just can't beat it. I've traveled to Taipei and Hong Kong and the food definitely reminds me of home.
