I originally discovered this place in Atlanta and fell in love with the service, the apple cobbler dessert, and the VEGGIE BURGER! The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is charming. Now that I live in NY, the only difference is the that the lemonade up here isn't nearly as good, but otherwise it's still one of my favorite spots. Everyone I bring here loves it. Oh, and the spinach dip is amazing!

Tonight was one of the best NY dining experiences i have had in months! This sexy and dim restaurant is something out of a film. The wait was 80 minutes but the Maitre'D made us feel like it was going to be worth every penny. Although we did wait almost the full time the wine and jazz made it all worth it. After being scorned by my partners I did decide on the burger for dinner. I can honestly say even the burger was worth and 80 minute wait. Between the woman at the front door, the jazz and the burger I am giving this midtown hot spot top billing. A absolute must!

Even though this is a chain restaurant, it's still so good. They do beef and ribs just right (the chicken is only so-so, I've heard). I got a hamburger and it was giant! It tasted so good, along with the shoeshing fries, that I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back. My friends got the steak special, salads and the hickory burger, which all looked great. Perfect steakhouse atmosphere and the wait wasn't nearly as long as they said it was (30 minutes on a late Saturday night). Highly recommended!

I had the chance to go out with a woman from my past with whom I wanted to share a nice, unrushed evening in a place where the atmoshere accommodated me rather than overwhelming our conversation. I also wanted to be somewhere near Grand Central Station. With help from MENUPAGES reviews, I chose Houston's. We walked and talked from Grand Central to Houston's and then sat down for a delicious Organic NewZealnad Salmon ($27), nice wine ($36), and a cheeseburger ($10). Also had some mixed drinks ($10 for Southern Comfort and Diet Coke, her favorite) We tried to share the steamed and grilled artichoke, but it took more skill to eat than I cared to expend. That said, we were able to sit, unrushed and really enjoyed the balanced atmosphere, wood and lighting. The wait staff was cute, friendly and attnetive. Not at all snooty. Would definitely recommend. It's right inside the Citicorp bldg.

Recently dined here with some friends and we had the greatest time. The Bar is hopping and there are many fun 20-30 somethings flocking to meet and greet. When we first got there I was a little dissapointed by the door staff. I am a frequent New York diner and nothing is more important than the impression the host / Maitre'D makes. The girls seemed disorganized and it almost seemed like no one was in charge. In this day in age the Maitre'D system is floating out but in such a great restaurant it makes me so comfortable to be able to have a person of contact with EXPERIENCE. At any rate we had the best time , the food was amazing. Hands down the best spinich dip this side of Baltimore. Houston's is a must see.....bring your wallet to the bar...the drinks are worth every penny.
