Great Food at a Great Price

My friend and I ate at the Hourglass before going to see Wicked on February 21st. I called ahead for a reservation. Lucky I did since the restaurant seems small and it was very busy. We were greeted at the door and immediately seated. There were plenty of pre fixe meals to choose from as well as there regular menu. We both decided to try the grilled sea bass. Our waitress brought us a phyllo vegtable appetizer that was served with a delious red sauce for dipping. This was followed by a salad. Our dinner arrived quickly. The sea bass was accompanied by asparagus (which I love) and mashed potatoes. I think they were seasoned. The portions were a perfect size so we didn't feel to full. We were offered a mixed fruit cobbler hot from the oven both we both declined. It was a very pleasurable dining experience. It is located on a street the is loaded with restaurants on both sides. This is a great choice if you are in NYC.

    Good Food In The Neighborhood

I just moved to New York from L.A to pursue my career as an actor. The first day I arrived a friend of mine, that lives in hellz kitchen, recommended that we get a bite to eat at the Hourglass Tavern. I must say, this little restaurant made me feel right at home. I had the Frutti di mar and my friend had the home-made ravioli. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. I will definitely return and bring my family when they visit.

    Good food, good deal

Last night my wife and i had the pleasure of going to the hourglass tavern. The quaint restaurant was filled with little nick nacks and antigues. The menu had every type of fish, lobster , steaks. the waitress was real pleasant and attentive. Not only was the food great, it was reasonable. i didnt feel like i just got ripped off. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    A great little spot....

This weekend, I payed a visit to one of my favorite restaurants on Restaurant Row, THE HOURGLASS TAVERN. If you are looking for great food at a great price, this is the place. And what a menu to chose from, you would never think this little place has such a huge selection....from every fish you can think of to ravioli to steaks that come off the plate....talk about leaving overstuffed. What I love most about this place is the atmosphere....you feel like you are sitting at your very own home. I definately recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a meal with a deal. Try it out. It's a must see.
