Disappointed
I tried the eggs with home fries based on the previous reviews. The home fries were quite greasy and generously laced with assorted peppers; the eggs tasted like plastic. Although the staff was cheerful and I was able to obtain a glass of water with no fuss, I said to myself "why didn't I just go to a diner like I usually do."

Great eggs sandwiches
Admittedly, i haven't tried much from this place, but the bacon, egg and cheese is the best anywhere in the neighborhood.

My Favorite Pizza on the UWS
Seriously worth a try. I hate how they don't deliver, but that doesn't stop me from going to fetch one of these delicious pizzas myself.

everything bagels from heaven
Hot and crusty bagels' make the best everything bagels in NYC. Try toasting it with scallion cream cheese. You wont regret it!

Are these bagels or rolls?
There are plenty of great bagel places in New York, Hot & Crusty is not one of them. The service and food has gone down hill recently.

Best Chocolate Croissant in UWS
So far they have the best chocolate croissant and oatmeal walnut cookies ever. Sometimes the line takes a few precious morning minutes from my work commute, but it's worth it.

Neighborhood salad/sandwich/bakery joint
This is my neighborhood Hot & Crusty. Reliably tasty paninis, bagels, and sandwiches prepared fresh and fairly affordable. The pizza is excellent. The line can back up sometimes, and it can be difficult to get a cup of water without a look of scorn to go along with it, but it's basically very tasty food in a casual atmosphere. Impressive baked goods selection, too (breads & pastries).
