    Trendy Indian restaurant

I went to Hot Clay Oven for the first time last week upon hearing from a friend about their buy one get one free deal for drinks. Turns out, there was another deal to get a free mango shake with the purchase of an entree so I got to try this mango yogurt drink as well. We went around 6pm for dinner, and upon entering the first thing I noticed was the trendy music playing, and the lights on the wall and ceiling giving it a really hip and edgy look. I didn't quite expect this from a restaurant, let alone an 'Indian' restaurant. I guess I see where the fusion part comes into play. Needless to say, I was quite impressed by the overall layout and feel of the place. The service was quick, in the style of a customization line similar to chipotle. The only trouble I had was choosing what I wanted to get. The menu is relatively large and the number of combinations seems endless so I was a little confused upon deciding what to get. The servers were helpful in recommending the pulled pork and were also helpful in helping to decide what toppings to choose. In no time at all the servers prepared my pulled pork naan wrap with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, rice, cheese, and a combination of mint and yogurt chutney. I found the pork to be full flavoured, and had a really nice kick to it. The mint flavour combined with the yogurt gave a really nice balance to the wrap. Overall, I was immensely satisfied with this place and I would highly recommend checking it out. I found out about the discount via a friend, but I believe they post deals via twitter.

    Downhill fast

This place used to be great, but something went wrong the past few months. None of their deliveries arrive on time and when they do the food is cold; we have to reheat it every time. Also the portion size is inconsistent, sometimes with very little meat or the overall wrap is tiny. Too bad this place changed. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

    What a mess

Food was delicious but the wrap was a mess. Not wrapped very well at all, need all the napkins in my bag and I had to stop by Duane Reade to pick up a tide-to-go to fix the stains on my shirt. Ordered a naan wrap with Tandoori Chicken.

    Amazing Tandoori Chicken

I visited this establishment for the first time today at lunch to see what all of the fuss was about. The menu seemed very similar to Chipotle and the layout of the food, and workers was nearly identical. Nonetheless, I ordered the staple items of Indian Cuisine, Naan and Tandoori Chicken. I did not expect them to make this into a wrap, but I did not stop them and got lettuce, onions, peppers, rice, and some spicy sauce. They wrapped it very nicely, and I was able to take it back to my office and enjoy it on my desk, without a mess. The chicken was very flavorful, and fresh. The naan was very soft and also tasted incredibly fresh. I would absolutely go back and love to try different combinations of items. Highly recommended.

    Very Original

I was impressed by this new Indian Fusion restaurant and have been waiting to try them out. I ordered a rice bowl with jamaican steak and some veggies and tamarind chutney. it was very delicious. The food was so unbelievably fresh and the concept was quite original. The ambience was nice too. I'll be back to try more combinations. Good job Hot Clay Oven!

Grand Opening Of Hot Clay Oven

I have been long awaiting the grand opening of this restaurant, and it was well worth the wait! The food was incredible, the service was very speedy and professional, and the portions were more than generous. I was also fascinated by the presentation, decor, and hip atmosphere. The tandoors in the front are quite the sight to see! I really enjoyed watching the cooks making "naan" bread while I was waiting in the line. Overall, I had a very strong first impression and I was very pleased. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a delicious fusion food.
