It's just a great place
The atmosphere is great, you don't really get bored, and the food is amazing. It's a cool play to go to with friends just to chill after a long week. I highly recommend this place.

What a find!
My boss and I found this restaurant quite by accident - and on his trips to NYC, I make sure we have dinner there at least once a week! The service and friendliness of the staff are exceptional. I am a meat eater, and the meat plates are delicious.

..Not best the middle east has to offer
....Get this. My boyfriend and I had reservations so we thought that mattered. Dream on. We still waited 30 mins to be seated and then were asked to move 3 times when a bigger party arrived. The little food that was had was just "O.K" The atmosphere is decent, but the space was too small for all the people inside. Service from our waiter was wanting especially when you're paying $20 min and they're not very courteous. What's best? The music. It's a good mix of Arabic (lots of classic beautiful songs) and English. End result...? My boyfriend spent $150 and that's not worth it.

A fun time if you don't mind waiting
The food was great, but everything else was sub-par. We couldn't get a decent effort from our waiter, the place got very loud and the atmosphere was a little uncomfortable.

Pros and cons
I've been here several times. I really like the location, interior and decorations. I find horus to be a nice place to relax and smoke some hookah. I have never had food there so I can't comment on that. What I find quite strange is that horus is practically empty during the week...and completely packed on the weekends. I went there one saturday night and the place was SOOO HOT and packed. The room clearly could not accomodate the number of people that were in the room, and the cafe should have a better air conditioning system! The service can be pretty mediocre. Every time i need a new coal I feel like it takes forever to find someone to do it. Overall I find this to be a pretty nice place to chill out and smoke some hookah. The staff is verfy freindly...possibly a little too friendly. Especially the men. Also they don't serve liquor. Only beer and wine. It's a fun place, especially on the weekend. Prices are pretty average. $15 for a hookah, which seems to be the norm these days, though I do agree its over priced. The strawberry hookah is my fav! Good luck!

Everything is great
I've been to Horus lots of times (just last night as a matter of fact) and it just keeps getting better each time. I don't know why people are saying they do not get good service. All the waiters are friendly and make sure you have a good time, especially one bald waiter in particular (such a cutie!). I always enjoy myself when I'm there. The shisha (hooka) is great, the food is delicious, the music is wonderful, the atmosphere is incredible, the waiters are helpful (and good-looking!), I don't see anything wrong with Horus and I highly recommend everyone to go there.
