This place has delicious malawach, a yemeni layered savory pancake, served with a hard boiled egg, tomato puree and a spicy sauce called schug (hot sauce). The last time I went the tomato sauce was pink and not so great, but the malawach pancake is so unbelievably delicious with the schug, it really didn't matter. For the area, it's a good value, and so tasty. It's nice to see the diversity of Israeli cuisine.

The food really brought me back to Israel (where I was born and lived for 14 years). All the right flavors were there and reminded me of my grandmas humus she used to make when I was a kid.

walked in & placed take out order. was told "wait by window; we will bring it out to you". after 15mins i asked where my food was....order had been lost. i repeated my order and after some stumbling which appeared to involve the entire staff of 5-6 people, it appeared. gentleman who took my order initially presented without any apology. the order was wrong and sandwich was cold. very disappointing service

food is great, awesome, wonderful but the delivery service leaves you in limbo. five times in a row, they either forgot or they got the order wrong.

Pleasantly suprised to find this place. We had the trio of salads (eggplant, humos, and israeli salad) , chicken kabob, extra pita, mint tea all for about $20 bones. The food is FANTASTIC. The mashed eggplant was sweet, salty, savory - delicious, the humos with a healthy dollop of tahini was exceptional and the israeli salad was perfect. The portions are VERY generous. check it out, disregard the ghetto exterior and go!

I've been to the restaurant a couple times now and ordered delivery once. The table service can be limited to merely having your food carried from the kitchen to the table, but it's definitely worth it. The falafels are the best I have ever had, although I've never been to Israel, and the Jerusalem mix sandwich continues to please. There are some friendly staff, so it's really hit or miss, but go for the food, not the service. Also, delivery is fast. I can't get enough of Hoomoos Asli!

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is very hip and cute! The food is even better--I had the falafel sandwich and couldn't be more pleased. It was flavorful without being greasy, filling and under $5! My friend enjoyed her chicken shawarma sandwich, too. I can't wait to go back!
