Why even have a menu?
I went here with some friends for brunch on Easter. When we sat down they told us that they were out of two of the main courses on the menu. Fine I suppose, however while we were ordering the waiter told us they had run out of two other main dishes. So we finally ordered and then the waiter comes back to tell us that one item we ordered had just run out. The food was decent, but the service continued to disappoint. I will never return here.

Good food poor service
I have friends visiting from London and wanted them to try some contemporary American food and American wines. The food turned out to be good, but the food is not everything since dining is a ceremony and requires other elements that Home is missing: kind and friendly staff. The waiters gave us a bottle of white wine room temperature and when we asked for a chilled bottle of wine they told us that the bottle we ordered is already open! For the prices they charge - that was a turn off.

Midwestern fast food
It is in the village, on a nice street..the food is really akin to the casual dining chains, so I can see how it could taste good to some and commercial to others.

Surprise
Home's food was wonderful. I'm surprised by the other lukewarm reviews. Some of the best food I've had, EVER: a chowder, a salad, and an apple-quince pie. It's a little crowded, but the food was really phenomenal, very different from similarly-priced restaurants. Inventive with traditions, surprising flavors, and recipes that taste like you never knew they should.

Not for a group
I invited a group of friends to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it was such a disappointment. The food was pretty uninspiring, and we had to pay a fixed price of $30 plus tax and tip.

Dissapointed!
When a number of out-of-town friends descended upon New York, I jumped at the opportunity to try "Home". What a bad choice! The food was so-so and the service slow.

Bad Waitress, OK Food
The food is still good here but it is not up to the standard that they used to adhere to. I live in the neighborhood and used to come in for brunch. My last brunch there was disaster. My girlfriend's meal was pretty good but mine was so-so (I would expect better for the price).
