    Best Thai in NYC

This restaurant has excellent food. The presentation at the table is beautiful. Eating in is way better than takeout but takeout in a close second! I especially recommend the Pad Kratiem and the Sea bass. Oh, the steamed spring rolls, too. And the curry... mmm. Definitely order from here!

    Low quality food and delivery

Just tried this place based on the reviews, and unfortunately I cannot reccomend this place. The food was bland, the chicken was dry and the tom kha didn't taste right (and had no vegetables in it). I ordered the chicken pad sew ew and the chicken tom kha, and was dissapointed with both. Skip this place. (Also delivery took 45 minutes...)

    Always wonderful!

Had another great meal at Holy Basil! The food is delicious and presented very nicely. The seafood curry was nicely seasoned. The wine list is brief but very reasonably priced. Our party of 4 had a great time. If you're on the east side, this is the place to go!

    Impressed.

I'm not from NYC but this restaurant was recommended from a local. I find good Thai food hard to fine and I have to say this was the best Pad Thai I've ever tasted. My friend has Kea Moi and loved her meal as well. Service was good. The wait staff was friendly and eager. The waiter did not bother with us much to see if we needed anything while eating, but that is because we had great food and our water was refilled often. I got a HUGE Mango Margarita and shared it with my friend. Spring rolls and plum sauce was also great! I could use a little more lighting, but I think the atmosphere was overall fabulous! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Thai food or wants to try something new!

    Where's The Beef?

Great food, but thank god I'm on a diet b/c they didn't even fill the take out container full and it wasn't cheap. I'd never order take out from here again.

    Food no longer good....

Lately, their food quality has gone down. I no longer order from here.

    worth the price

I've always been willing to pay more for extra flavor and atmosphere. I've tried every cheap thai place in the EV and they all taste like Mexican food. This place brings a little extra. The front room views of 2nd ave from one flight up are fantastic and the interior room is wonderful. If you want to eat raw beef and delicious duck, this is my favorite place and it has been for 15 years. The food is outstanding. If all you want is some tasteless pad thai for $5, go somewhere else.
