LOVE this Diner!
My wife and I went to the Hollywood Diner, corner of 6th and 16th last Sept when in Manhattan on our vacation, and we LOVED it... everything about it... especially the great, big-portioned meals we ate! We will be going back this September when we return to NYC for vacation, and have been recommending it to everyone we talk to that may be in Manhattan. (We are from Nova Scotia, Canada btw) We LOVE this place! :)

Pretty good but other places nearby are better
We ordered takeout from here online without having been to (or even seen) the diner before but I’d read decent reviews about it so I figured why not give it a try. We had chicken primavera pasta with chicken noodle soup and the chilli burger with fries, with a slice of strawberry shortcake to finish. First impression upon delivery: dude, these portions are massive! My husband thought the pasta was absolutely delicious but it all proved too much for him and he could only eat about half of it. The chilli burger was really tasty – the meat wasn’t greasy and the chilli was just hot enough to compliment the burger without overpowering it. The fries were a bit bland (just the usual, standard skinny fries you get everywhere) but I’m not really a fan of fries anyway. The strawberry shortcake was really nice too - really creamy and fruity. In general the food was good value and a good standard. I might try some other places in the area before I went back to Hollywood Diner again but I’m glad we gave it a go and I certainly wouldn’t rule out returning at some point in the future.

A little Better Service
The place looks great...thats about it. The waitresses didn't know the menu at all. They never offered a refill and the french toast was gooey in the middle. I should have gone to IHOP instead.

the wood = best diner in nyc
the wood is the best diner hands down. around they clock they constantly produce excellent meals. mac n' cheese is unreal as is their french onion soup. a must go.

Excellant!
We really liked this place. The burger was excellant as was the chicken stuffed with spinnach and mushroom. Would like to return during our next trip to NYC to try some more from their menu. Well worth a visit!

They have what you're in the mood for
I'm a weekly visitor. I've run the gamut of the menu and am never disappointed. If you like: moussaka, roasted chicken, fried liver, pancakes, mushroom & cheese omelette, tuna melt, chef's salad or the greatest twin burger, you're in the right place. Where can you find a great baked potato at noon? Order two w/sour cream and make a meal of it!
