Fresh off the bus? Need a bite?!

This restaurant has injected new life into the area around port authority. the food, overall, is fabulous and can be tweaked -- with relative ease -- to taste (ex. egg white omelettes). their standard fare is done to near perfection...you will not go wrong with any of their brunch items, salads, or burger/chicken club sandwiches. breakfast is pretty quiet but the place picks up with a busy lunch and dinner crowd. the atmosphere is young and hip with clubby (somewhat loud) music and a pretty, white+chrome interior. young, pretty staff and a great bar/drink menu too! (try the mojito). reservations would probably be recommended but definitely try popping into this place if you happen to be passing by

    The Asian Sensation

We had a remarkable experience at HK! The happy hour was good for my budget and great for my date. The food was amazing, I had the rack of lamb and she had the special fish- garlic crusted black sea bass with a chive cream sauce, wilted spinach and lemon olive rice cake. YUM !! Our waiter- this guy that looks like Maddox (A Jolie's adopted Cambodian son) selected the perfect wine to accentuate our dinner. The ambiance was upbeat and fun and definitely got our night started right... I'm telling all of my friends, and my mother.

    Slow service

I hate to write this review cause I really do like the food. Live in the neighborhood, and been there a few times. Service was never great, but the last time reached a new low. Not only did we wait 15 minutes for the server to take my order in a near-empty restaurant, but I waited another 35 for the food. The waitress did not once come by after we ordered to explain the delay. When finally approached, she expressed no concern about the fact that we had been waiting so long. Because no apology was forthcoming and no effort was taken to find out the status of our order, we decided to cut our losses and left. Doubt we will be returning.

    Hot spot

This spot is awesome, the food is amazing and the happy hour is really cheap. Perfect for a romantic date. the service is great and the hostess really yummy.

    Comfortable fancy

This spot was a perfect balance between a nice dinner out and a comfortable favorite spot. It was very approachable?didn't need a reservation?and yet fancy enough to make a romantic date spot. I enjoyed the modern decor, and the candlelight. A bit loud though. The food was great. I had a chicken dish with grilled vegetable that was delicious. A good find for the area.

    Welcome to the neighborhood

After theatre on West 37 Street last weekend, my friend and I check out HK because of its proximity to the theatre and because good restaurants were hard to find in that area before. Not any longer. HK is a welcomed addition to the West 30's. The very friendly service was matched by the delicious meal. It's good to find a restaurant of this caliber in this neighborhood.

    Bad-ass burgers

London Mitchell's used to boast the best burger within 5 blocks of Port Authority. HK has stepped into the ring. You'd be an idiot to not try one of these suckers. Although they've got a pretty cheap happy-hour, they have some kind of fascist policy that makes cheap dudes like me sit at the bar. Stick to the burgers and stick to take-out.
