    Great for a date

Great beer list. The service was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was a good combo of comfort and style.

    Poor service

Really cool vibe, hip place, great food, service is not good. The serving staff cannot answer any questions about the menu. I ordered another coke, and they forgot it several times, and finally brought it out about an hour later. With my bill.

    Not worth the time

Our dinner companions--who arrived a half hour before us--described the service as "non-existent." We were running late and ordered over the phone (through our friends) and when we arrived seven minutes later, the order had just been put in, saving us no time at all. The on-line reviews are clear about the slow service. It makes me wonder whether or not the management cares. As good as the food was, I don't think we'll be returning.

    Incredibly slow service

I don't know why I didn't pay attention to the previous reviewers who said the service was slow but now I believe it. I went for Easter brunch and it took 15 minutes just to get a waitress' attention. I finally went to the bar to get a glass of water and was told half the staff was off because of Easter. The food was pretty good when we finally got it (although the smoked salmon in the omelet was very salty). I would never go back though; there are too many other brunch places around to waste my time at HK again.

Good food, too loud music, slow service

Good value for what is essentially comfort food (with a little twist in some cases) and a few unexpected dishes like mussels which is surprisingly very good. But the near-absent service and the loud, tacky techno music has often marred my experience at HK.

    Good Food, Poor Service

It's too bad this cool place has poor bad service as it is a great place to grab lunch during the work week. It seemed our waitress apparently had not waitressed before. It took over 20 minutes for our drinks (sodas and Ice teas) to come. I saw her approach us with 2 out of the 4 drinks and then turn around to retrieve the 2 she forgot. It was painful to sit there and watch. The host and the bartender watched TV at the bar as there were many neglected patrons.

Fresh off the bus? Need a bite?!

This restaurant has injected new life into the area around port authority. the food, overall, is fabulous and can be tweaked -- with relative ease -- to taste (ex. egg white omelettes). their standard fare is done to near perfection...you will not go wrong with any of their brunch items, salads, or burger/chicken club sandwiches. breakfast is pretty quiet but the place picks up with a busy lunch and dinner crowd. the atmosphere is young and hip with clubby (somewhat loud) music and a pretty, white+chrome interior. young, pretty staff and a great bar/drink menu too! (try the mojito). reservations would probably be recommended but definitely try popping into this place if you happen to be passing by
