Fast, fresh, and delicious!
This is my chinese lunchtime place-don't be intimidated by the line-it moves fast...good portions, freshly made to order. I do not order soups but I am told by coworkers they are great! Chow fun w/chicken is nicely done-without too much soy sauce. Duck dishes are great as well. other places can be spotty on the food-I like this place the best!

Best Chinese in Midtown
Don't get the food sitting in the steam tables. Go to the counter and order something off the menu. Try the soy sauce chicken over rice.

Great for lunch, ok for dinner
I love this place for lunch. The food is good, plentiful and fresh. Because it's always crowded at lunchtime (but the lines move like lightening), the food is much better during the day. I went there once at 5:30 pm to get dinner but it was a little dry - as if it had been there SINCE lunch. The weekend during lunch was worse - probably because the turnover isn't there. It's mostly work week business crowds that keep this place moving. So, to recap, a definite thumbs up for weekday lunch, thumbs down for all other times.

It's really that great!
I'm proud to say that I'm a regular customer there. I've been eating there since the first day it opened. After years of business, their menu has expanded a bit, and their food continues to be some of the best Chinese food around. You can't really beat their food for the prices they charge at Hing Won. Take my words for it, if you're really hungry, go for the soup noodles. It's huge. And if for some strange reasons you're still hungry after that, order a rice dish. My favorite noodle is the roast duck leg and scallion chicken leg noodle soup. It's like 6 something I think. For the rice, try the fish fillet with creamy corn. I think it's S21 on the menu. (I order that 9 out of 10 times when I'm there.) You can't go wrong with either 1 of those. The place is swamped during lunch time. You can't go wrong with a place like there. Just give it a try. And you'll be hooked.

Fast, Cheap and Delicious!
After starting a new job in Roc Center, I was in need of some cheap and fast lunch places. I found this place on Menu Pages and turned my entire office on to it! This is Chinese Fast Food - perfect for lunch. Their food is fresh (because the demand is so high - have NEVER been in there and not seen a huge crowd), their prices are cheap, and the service is VERY fast (they can do this in their sleep). Really great lunch place - who cares if the atmosphere is crappy. It's like $6 for a meal and a half!!

This is where all the Asians eat
I judge a Chinese restaurant by how many Asians actually eat or order out from it. And from the pandemonium I saw here, you know it's the place to be. The food is great, the price can't be beat, and the service is fast. You just can't be shy -- elbow your way up to the counter and give your order. Then listen for your food as the women behind the counter yell our the order as they come in.

Great for lunch-dinner.
So you find yourself in midtown manhattan with 6 bucks in your pocket and an empty stomach. What to do? Head on over to Hing Won. The place isn't much to look at, but better food and cheaper prices your not likely to find anywhere in midtown. The counter service is speedy and friendly, and the food is just great. I recommend the Roast Pork over Rice. It's crazy filling and comes to less than $6 after tax.
