It's good on a budget
I spent the summer at SVA around the corner, and this is where our meal plan was. Even when we were out of meal tickets we ate here a lot because the food was good and the prices cheep. The place was never crowded. This place is good if youre just getting food, not "going out" to have a meal.

Friendly Food, Friendly Prices
The food here at the Cafe of Hidden City is meaningless but quite friendly here to me. At first I walk in and I get a fright: large but empty space! Many many seats to dine upon, yet zero coustomers to eat them! Did that stop me? No I didn't stop. The counter area with foods appears to be very welcoming to me, and to most others who go. What I mean, is that the big display cases filled with delicious salads, wraps, paninis, sandwiches, quesadillas, catarmarans, mini pizzas, yogurt parfaits, sweet treats like muffins, danish, cakes, yogurt parfaits, fruit mixes, animal snacks, fruits, bars of granola, also more: racks of bacon, veggies, cheeses, and even soups and even more! To me, all this food was smiling all at me from down in their cage of a case, waiting for me to choose which one I would like to fill up in my belly. Almost like a food-zoo or supermarchet. Overall, I did decide to eat what you think I might like: A Soup, a salad with which of my own chosen ingredients were of filling it up!, a banana, and a panani. For a beverage I ate a Coca Cola, but finished my meal off after that with a apetite filler of a coffee and a sticky bun. They also make coffees and tea with other hot beverages. The men that made my food were well mannered, and clean, shaven and fresh bathed that morning. They smiled as they cooked up my delicious choices. No complains! Also the price of money that left my wallet was almost nothing! I will come here everyday for always as I work in this City.

Nothing special
The main draw of this place is its size, but other than that, it's nothing special. The food is decent, not fantastic, but good enough for a typical lunch. The staff ranges from friendly to cold. I've had several paninis here and they've all tasted the same-tasty, but not such high quality.

Decent food, decent prices
The sandwiches are okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Good choices at the salad bar, though the amount you get varies from server to server. One guy put about two chicken strips in my salad and another guy grabbed a hefty amount. Watch them as they put the higher priced additions in, because sometimes they will skimp! Soups are typical salty stuff. They have affordable lunch specials and you get a lot of food, so if there's a good soup that day it's worth it. I've bought desserts/pastries/muffins a few times and they tend to be stale, so I would skip those unless you actually see a brand new, whole cake. The rice pudding was crunchy, the napoleon tasted as if it had been in the case for a couple of weeks, and the carrot cake I had once was dry. The people working there really are nice and there's a lot of room at tables & booths to spread out and eat. There are plenty of other places to get better food, but if you want a bargain and don't want to feel rushed & crowded Hidden City is a good choice.

Best wraps in town
I come here for lunch and I buy a wrap but only half of it fills me. So the next day I eat the order half of the wrap and it's good because you can mix and match so that I don't have to eat the same thing everyday. So spending $6.25 for 2 days worth of lunch!! Where else in NY can you get that? Not the mention they ares sooo tasty! I recommend this place to all my co-workers and everyone I know who lives or works in the area.
