    GREAT to have them back!

I frequented the old Hi Life on 1st ave, and when they closed it was heart breaking. I only very recently rediscovered they had reopened and renewed! We were greeted by the hostess and the manager as soon as we walked in. The wait was about 15 minutes, but we were told 20. I really appreciated the honesty, as I cannot stand being lied to about wait time. Even though we arrived during the rush, we were greeted almost immediately. Our waitress was efficient and knew the items inside and out. She took the time to walk us thru the EXTENSIVE menu and recommend her favorites. We started with the artichoke and nachos with chili. The nachos were HUGE! Definitely share those. I had the pad thai with chicken, and it was as delicious as i remembered. My friend ordered the Salmon with spinach and mashed potatoes. It was cooked to perfection and well paired with the homemade mashed potatoes. We didn't have room for dessert, but we'll plan a little better to try it next time. And that will be very soon!

    Good time

I went with friends and we had a great time. The menu has a large selection of drinks and food. There is something for everyone. The service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. They even accommodate children. They have a kids menu and crayons and coloring pages are given to each child. (makes for happy parents):)

    Two thumbs up!

We had heard great things about Hi Life, but had not been there until last night. We met friends for drinks, had dinner and ended up closing the bar! The crowd was fun. The variety of the menu is amazing. Two thumbs up.

    Great Time

My wife and I finally got a chance to get uptown with the family and had heard about the new Hi-Life reopening on the east side. Very impressed!!! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious!! We tried at least 5 or 6 different apps/entrees, (took some to go) and I have to say the sushi was awesome!! Salads were great, and I can't remember having a better, more flavorful and nice sized burger. Funny to say that about a burger, but............... We had fish dishes, steaks, and other dishes (been there a few times now), and can't say that anything was ever average, it was excellent. My 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son stuffed their faces (literally) and had a blast. The deserts were ridiculous as well!! My wife and I love berries, so the triple berry desert was something unique rich, warm, smooth, almost impossible to describe. Not your typical berry tart or generic desert you can find just anywhere. Needless to say we ate at Hi-Life east I believe 4 times in a month, and we live in the middle of Brooklyn. Will definitely be there again very soon. Getting hungry just writing about it.

    poor service

went here for a family brunch and will never go back again! it took half an hour for our waters and drinks order to come to the table. the food was decent but also took a while to come out. waiting staff were pleasant enough but were clearly not trained for the basics of the job. it was also very tight in terms of space, maybe too many tables and chairs throughout the place so it was not the most comfortable place to wait for the drinks/food to come out in the time it took. not impressed!!

    great food...Poor service

i reccommend going there when your not in a rush to get out. the food (reccommend the spring rolls) is good but the waiting service is not good! they are VERY slow and never check up on you.

So so food at inflated prices

I get cranky if i sit at a restaurant for more than 30 minutes after being seated without ordering. I get in an even worse mood if I have to wait for 45 minutes after that for any food to come. Then if the long awaited food turns out to be only enough to feed a 4 year old I cringe at how long it will take for something else to come. So I gave up. Huge let down. Wont be going back.
