    Very Enjoyable.

Overall, a very pleasant surprise. My first instinct was that Hi Life would be trendy, as it seems to be one of the Upper East Side hotspots. However, my bunch and I were all impressed with the food, and the service was prompt and friendly. Very enjoyable!

    Good not great

Ordered a few apps, drinks, and entrees with another couple. Food was good but simple things would make the service better. Right after we ordered drinks my friend wanted to change her order to another drink and was told the first drink was already made. Considering it was just a glass of wine I think they could have made the drink she wanted to keep the customer happy. they also brought out one appetizer similar to the one we ordered but not the actual one that was ordered. We kept the incorrect but think they still should have brought the other one or comped the incorrect one. food was tasty but the above are just simple things that make customers feel they are listened to and valued.

    Great food, great atmosphere

I've come here with groups of my friends many, many times, and I absolutely love it. The owner and waiter/waitresses are wonderful, the food is great and the drink specials are delicious. I highly recommend it.

    A Happy Happy Hour

I had been hearing lots of great things about the new Hi Life, so I decided to check it out last Monday. I sat at the bar and ended up staying alot longer than I originally planned. I was a little apprehensive about eating half price raw fish, but the sushi was amazing. There were lots of regulars at the bar, and the bartender did a great job introducing them to me. I had a great time and will definately be back soon!!!

    IPOD I loved!

This past Saturday I had my first IPOD lounge experience. It's such a novel idea to get the crowd into the groove by playing their own music. I was there with two of my girlfriends, and we meant to just get something to eat from the kitchen but we ended up there all night. I didn't really think of this place as a "late night" bar, but I was happily mistaken. Drinks were good, the crowd was fun and the DJ was great! I'll definitely be back.

    good news/bad news

i guess the two most important things have succeeded..it remains a very cool plave to hang out...the food is good and bad, but the good is excellent and the many specials give it great value....while most is positive, it has lost the most important venue...the feeling of being a special customer, no matter how often you come...the old manager remembered you, smiled and seemed to always be within seconds of how long you had to wait...the back family room, he made you totally welcome and no matter how big the mess, he let you know not to worry....i also miss the bartender with the hat..i know things change, but i never met a more laid back(in a good way) bartender who could speak(knowingly) on so many subjects..and he and the old manager seemed to draw a very eclectic crowd giving a great variety...i was a little set back that when i asked for those two guys i was met(by the manager) like i had a disease..not sure if he is new(and maybe jealous) and perhaps he has been asked one time too many bout those guys...while they really made the place..we will be back..the ambience is actually cooler and being smaller is a great advantage. overall grade is B+

    I liked it!

My boyfriend and I went there for their Tuesday 50% off sushi special and liked it. It was really crowded and we were left alone for some time but some gentleman came by and apologized for the wait and took our drink and food order. We had two pitchers, which were also on Tuesday special, and tons of rolls. Overall, it was good. I was scared to try hamachi (yellow tail) becuase most of the UES I visited that wasn't high end served previously frozen hamachi, which is just nasty and fishy, but it was really good here. We were so stuffed...we should have stopped after our first round but we went again so our bill was like $70 with 50% off but most folks would probably get away with half that. It was a nice visit.
