    Beware the fake crabmeat sandwich!

Ordered the crabcake sandwich and was very disappointed with the fake crabmeat. It tasted very processed, and did not contain one ounce of real crab meat. My husband enjoyed his burger, though. Service was great and prices were decent. Place was very crowded!

    Favorite Place in Brooklyn Heights

In my opinion, the Henry Street Ale House (along with Iron Chef) has the best food for the best price in Brooklyn. The homeade chips with homeade guacamole is a great appetizer and the burgers, quesadillas, sandwiches etc... are all expertly prepared. If you don't want to pay the high prices of the fancier Brooklyn Heights restaurants (Henry's End, Jack the Horse, Noodle Pudding etc...) but want a great dinner, I highly recommend Henry Street Ale House.

this failed "brew pub" is a mere afterthought that the owner didnt plan . I've lived here a long time and this isn't an "old" establishment. The food is so-so the atmosphere is way dark and basically nothing special. There are some true "gems" a few steps in any direction.

    Hidden Gem

My girlfriend and I live in Brooklyn Heights and this is our favorite place in the area along with Iron Chef. The food is great, and the service is attentive. Great value as well. We usually order the homemade tortilla chips with guacamole for appetizer, and then choose amongst a wide range of dinner options. Just a great place for an affordable dinner.

    One of my faves...

I've been going here since I moved to Brooklyn Heights two years ago. The food is pretty much my favorite part about the Ale House. The mac and cheese is definatly great... enough for two people, or left overs. The quesadillas and nachos are also really good. There is a wide selection of beers that they change with the season. Drinks a reasonably priced. The service is usually incredibly slow, so if you're in a rush try somewhere else. The decor is pleasant, however, it's really dark in there. The fans on the ceiling are cool. It's an old bar and has a lot of character.
