Ehhhh
I went twice and the place just doesn't do it for me. Won't go back again at this point if I can help it. I wanted it to be good...just no cigar. I probably agree with the hit or miss review

Perfect
The nice people at Hecho en Dumbo helped me put together a 5 course tasting menu for my girlfriend's birthday. There was lots of of food, the food was amazing and every course was fantastic. Although it would be hard to pick a favorite, I might say the Ensalada del Col, Grilled Steak Short Rib Tacos, Queso Fundido de Chorizo y Huitlacoche and for dessert, the Pastel de Chocolate. The service was excellent. All in all, I couldn't have asked for better, all agreed it was a perfect night.

Hit or miss
the first time i went here (a tuesday night)i had a great experience. i came back the next week (a thursday night) and was very disappointed. the second time it was also very busy, so i have a feeling this place has a hard time handling itself under busy, high-pressure situations. the good: the first time i went was a tuesday night. the cocktails were AMAZING - expertly made. maragitas were perfect, sour but not TOO sour and just boozy enough. i had a fish soup which had black sea bass, crab, and shrimp in it and it was absolutely fantastic. extremely refreshing and all the fish was cooked just right. my dinnermates had pork tacos which they couldn't stop raving about. it wasn't very busy, we were seated right away and the wait staff were quick, responsive and friendly. the second time, the waitstaff were also very friendly and the cocktails were again great. the grilled cobia on rice was also absolutely delicious (though kind of a small portion). the bad: the second time i went, we were given an estimate of a 25-minute wait, and the host said he would come get us if we waited at the bar. we had no problem with waiting by the bar and enjoying their fantastic margaritas for that long. but it was a full hour until we were seated, and we had to keep asking the host to find us a seat (he had no intention of coming to the bar to let us know). other friends of ours who were there in a party of 5 that same night were initially told they would have a 10 minute wait and weren't seated for 1 hour and 45 minutes after that. the cod-stuffed poblano pepper dish was extremely bland/boring, not to mention a ridiculously small portion. they didn't have the same seafood soup as last time, so i ordered a similar-looking one with crab and it was also pretty bland, and didn't have enough crab meat (not to mention ALL the crab was in one of the two bowls that they split the soup into). the service was slow (granted it was busy), and they confused our order with someone else's when they gave us the receipt. all in all, i'd say they've got some really delicious food that is a bit overpriced for the portions, and wonderful cocktails, but need to work on improving their service and quality when things get busy.

Kind of a Joke
Ordered shrimp tacos and a Chorizo burrito. Thirty minutes later we were brought a mushroom burrito and Pork medallions. The food runner insisted that was what we had asked for (even though we ordered with a young woman, not him) and when we explained to him in perfect spanish this was not our food he walked away towards the kitchen. Came back ten minutes later with a queso dip no one had asked for and we told him he was at the wrong table and we were still waiting for the food we ordered, also in spanish to maximize clarity. Another half hour and he brings us another plate of the mushroom and pork thing we had never asked for in the first place. The waitress who initially served us turned up at the very end to bring the bill for food we never saw which was attached to a flyer advertising a dinner special in September. It was November 4th. $7 for a pint of Kelso? Which is brewed like two miles away? Shrimp and octopus tacos sounded awesome. It would have been nice to have eaten them before paying $11 for them.

Great!
What a lovely little addition to the new Bowery food scene. Food was great, lively bar atmosphere with a great crowd and interesting drink concoctions. Good place to bring a date or catch up with friends.

Not recommended
I ordered tacos and they were disappointing. They consisted of mostly fat! Oh and let's not get on the portions! Very small! If you order the lunch special, they say it comes with either rice or soup so I ordered the rice and the brought my rice out like 15 minutes before they brought the rest of the meal. Oh and the rice was cold!
