    Super restaurant!

A great place to eat. My husband and I came to visit New York and had a stop there. The waiter was very nice and the hamburgers so good!!

    Not recommended

My boyfriend and I went there on a rainy Tuesday night. It wasn't crowded at all but the waiter took 15 minutes before he came to take our order. The shrimp chowder badly needed salt and arrived half-congealed in the bowl. Kobe burger was supposed to be medium-rare but was murderously overcooked (what a shame) and came with side salad that had a huge lettuce bottom in it. We ordered a side of fries that never came. Our waiter disappeared for the entire time we were there. We couldn't get more drinks and ended up having to ask a busboy for our check! He came quickly after we put the credit card down, though. On top of all this, a lady next to us ate a few bites of her chicken before finding out that the inside was uncooked. Not even pink, RAW! For $60 that we paid I think they could have cared a little bit but that was not the case here. I'll never come back here again even if it was free.

    Hidden gem on the menu

I've eaten here quite a few times in the last year, on my own and with friends. We all agree on one thing, the star on the menu is the sashimi grade Tuna Burger. Have it rare or medium rare and just enjoy. Service is always good and prices reasonable. The beers are pretty good as well.

    Great Atmosphere, Good Food

My boyfriend & I were looking for a bar where we could sit down, watch the Yankee game, and not be accosted by the Friday night drunken happy hour crowd. We went to 2 different bars a few blocks away that were so packed and loud, we couldn't even get a seat if we'd waited all night. Then I remembered the Heartland, which I'd been to many times before 2 yrs ago. We sat at the downstairs bar and only had to wait a few minutes for a couple of stools to open up at the bar. The bartender was great and even joked around with us. We got to try the different beers before ordering. We both ordered steaks which were cooked perfectly and very flavorful for not being a steakhouse! It wasn't loud or packed and we were able to enjoy our food, the beer, and the game in a bar without the party crowd. We will definitely be returning to watch more games here!

    Overpriced and not worth it

poor service, overpriced food and subpar bartenders.

    Great for Pre-Hockey Game

I go here often with friends before Rangers games at Madison Square Garden. It's convenient, the excellent menu is a big jump above regular pub fare and the service is friendly and efficient. What more can you ask for?

    Good Food / Cold Room

Before I go further, I had one of the finest pieces of steak I have had anywhere, period. 2 slices of shoulder with not a scrap of waste on them. It was that good. We headed here after a perfect evening upstairs, so to speak at the top of the Empire State. This place is right on the corner. The main attraction was of course the location and the choice of local brews on offer and there were plenty. We sampled a few and they were all excellent. A couple of gripes though. Despite the heatwave in Manhattan while we were there, it was freezing inside and it made it a little uncomfortable. And I was not too happy at an 18% service charge added to the bill. I don't mind tipping and if the proprieter wants to levy a service charge in lieu of cash tips then fine but post it on the menu, not on the bill at the end.
