Good food, poor service
We ate here with friends on Saturday night before the theater. After our orders were taken, we never saw our waiter again and three times food runners tried to serve us the wrong food. We found out towards the end of the meal, that the food they were trying to serve us belonged to a table next to us. Those poor folks got their food very late and it was cold. When we were through our appetizers it took another 20 minutes or so to finally get our food. It was good, but it took way too long. (Frankly it was overpriced as well.) My water was never refilled either. Then to add insult to injury they added the gratuity to the bill. We were only a party of four. They also added it to the table next to us. (The folks whose food kept coming to us.Also a party of four.) This is unacceptable. I worked at an upscale restaurant for 10 years and I would never just add a gratuity to a party under 6. It's also ridiculous that three times they brought food to the wrong table. It also took so long, that we ended up having to rush to the theater. We had given our selves plenty of time arriving at the restaurant at 5:45. Our dinner was not served until 7:10 and we had only order one salad and one soup as apps. So this is unforgivable. We will never return to this restaurant. (We also did NOT pay the suggested gratuity.) I think that the waiters are costing themselves tips by adding the gratuity on. They also need some better training!

Good value for the price
I went here by myself, which is always chancy in a popular place like this. I was seated right away and the waitress was very friendly. I had the crab cakes, which I thought might be a mistake in a rib/steak place, but they were wonderful. I had none of the service or food problems mentioned in some of the other reviews, despite how busy the restaurant was.

Great place
Took a shot and made reservations online based on online reviews. We were not disappointed. The place has good atmosphere and is well kept. The staff was great, From the bartender to the server, everyone was friendly and easy to deal with. Service was fast. The food was very good. The menu is mostly American staples of steak, chicken, etc. I will definitely go again when back in NYC.

Poor
I was so disapointed. they got my wifes order wrong (a hamburger instead of a steak) mine was cold and I think I got hungover from two beers. Its not that cheap either. At least "Wicked" was fantastic.

OK food, shame about the service
We have visited this place before, and had a perfectly nice meal. However, on this occasion, the meal and service weren't up to scratch. Here's a tip - try clearing away the appetiser plates, before bringing out the main course. Ribs tough and overcooked. This is a shame, as previous visits have been much better than this. Positive point - good selection of "home brewed" beers.

Great
We didn’t book just turned up and got a table for 6 no problem, food was great and the service and atmosphere spot on. Nothing fancy on the menu, but you could recognise what it was and you didn’t need a bag of chips on the way home!

Exactly what it says on the tin...
Long flight, very tired, in need of a kick start to our trip - you with me? How about great beer, great staff, lively atmosphere and THE best value food around? That just about sums up this place. Sure there will be better steaks, better staff in better designed places, with much BIGGER price tags and pretentions to match (and having eaten in some of the so called "best" restaurants around the world, I know this to be true) - this place is exactly what it says it is. We had two speciality steaks, followed up by the biggest, baddest, ice cream brownie, cream covered beast of a pud - washed down with great ale. Great atmosphere with great hard working waiting staff. Can't speak highly enough about this place, thanks for squeezing us in so quickly on a busy, very chilly, friday night in NYC - things like this make us come back to your fantastic city over and over again.
