Tasteless Food
It was bitterly cold outside so we ducked into the Heartland Brewery for warmth and dinner. We ordered the chicken enchilada soup to start. Very disappointing. It tasted like Campbell's vegetable soup with added shredded chicken. There was no additional seasoning! No cheese or tortilla strips as described in the menu. My grilled chicken sandwich was ok. Again, no flavor to the grilled chicken but I liked the sourdough bread it came with. My husband had buffalo wings and said they were "decent." Next time, I will be better prepared for where to eat in that area so we can get a better meal.

Bring Large Group After Work
Yesterday, I brought a group of 10 people to this Heartland Brewery after work. We were trying to get together since one of our colleagues is moving. It was around 6pm and there were at least 12 tables available. We were asked by the rude hostess if we would be eating. I said that we would be having appetizers and drinks and maybe some people would eat. She had to go check with a few staff huddled in the corner and came back to say that if we were not each ordering an entree that we would not be allowed to have a table. We asked to sit outside where there was again at least 10 tables available. We were told that we couldn't do that either, because there was enough room. I assumed that since the economy has hit restaurants pretty hard, you'd think 10 people wanting to eat and drink in your restaurant would be welcomed. Instead we were told we could sit in the back near the bar. We were not walked to the area, but instead the hostess pointed to where we could go. We had to pull tables together ourselves and had to walk back and forth from the bar each time we wanted to order food or drinks. I WILL NEVER return to this restaurant or any other Heartland Brewery after this experience. I think the hostess that was working should be given some customer service training and allowed to seat 10 hungry and thirsty patrons in the real dining room.

Not recommended. Tourist spot.
The only reason I can see for someone to go here is that they are one of the many tourists in midtown who don't know better. The beer is not bad, but that's just about the only non-negative of this place. The food is pretty lousy, especially for what you pay. You can get better food at what on of the many deli/cafes in the area for half the price. The service was not all too impressive, then again, this place seems a little understaffed, so I can't really blame the servers.

Fun for the afterwork girls
This location is great for the ladies that just want to sit at the bar, have a few drinks and some laughs afterwork . The bartenders are especially catering and fun, the drinks are good and priced right. The food is good also and moderately priced. It gets a little crowded sometimes, but still lots of fun.

It is what it is...
It's a great place to go for a quick bite to eat if you're in the area and don't feel like searching for another restaurant. It can be packed at times though, especially with tourists visiting Radio City or Rockefeller Center. A little overpriced, but that's what you get with this area of the city!

Great beer, crappy food
Service is friendly and beer is great. You can get better bar food at any bar in NYC.
