I worked at a bakery and I know different stages and forms of mold when I see it. A bread that has been sitting out in plastic for four days or so develops sticky cobweb-like strings inside of it. I bought some banana bread at Health King on 7th Ave. It had yucky strings of wet mold inside of it. I refused to eat it. They refused to replace it and acted like I was crazy. If you get the opportunity to eat at Health King? Don't.

I live in Wall street about 2 blocks away and have made a hobby of trying to place a food order. It's become a joke in our household To be frank, I doubt they even have a phone, as Ive tried everyday now to place an order, and noones ever answered. I even called the uptown branch who happily told me the Wall street store was open and gave me the same number. (Dude picked up the phone there second ring!) But for a co. like this, in a 'hood like this, well never answering the phone, is tantamount to a McDonalds that doesnt come to their drive through.

Super fresh fruit! Papaya, mango, strawberries, kiwi, watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, grapes. Very sweet! Would definitely buy from again.

Health King makes the most amazing smoothies. I love the one with berries, kiwi, mango, and bee pollen. They don't skimp you on the fruit! Also, the owner of the store is very, very nice and really cares about his customers. I was also introduced to a great new chocolate bar - Gnosis Chocolate. I haven't seen it in too many other stores - but boy is it something else. Really healthy and really delish!

I work near and stop by Health King several times a week. I've always had a great experience until today. I ordered a smoothie that ended up having a large chunk of mango pit in it resulting in little white strings throughout the drink. Every sip left a mouthfull of strings and I was unable to drink it. I returned to the store and explained what happened only to be treated VERY poorly by the manager on duty. I was very polite, explained that I've had the same drink before and it was delicious, and that I would come back again, I just couldn't drink this particular smoothie because the strings from the mango pit were choking me. After arguing with me, the manager finally offered a new drink, but it was a smaller size, and then I was instructed to leave the store with my undrinkable mango smoothie and to throw it away outside the store. I've never been treated so rudely by restaurant staff.

Very fresh smoothies and friendly services! I go there almost everyday - very healthy choice in lieu of lunch! It is not that cheap but well worth it!

Health King offers a great variety of smoothies, fruit icies, and fresh squeezed juices, health supplement additions, fruit salads, all natural frozen yogurt, really delicious fresh baked muffins (lowfat and sugarfree varieties), and homemade soups. It's just a stand of sorts, very small, but clean, fast, friendly and very healthy. What more could you want? Try it. You'll thank yourself. They deliver, too!
