Good Lord!
I haven't been to tho other locations, but I'm certainly not returning to the Union Sq one. The empanadas were good. But the queso chorizo dish is bizarre. We ordered the grilled calamari and received the fried calamari. When we spoke to the server, she said that they did not HAVE the grilled calamari anymore (even though it was on the menu). Her response was," oh yeah, they're changing the menu. Sorry." We also ordered the conch fritters, and were told ten minutes after ordering them that they weren't available.Poor Eric. Additionally, everything was cold and obviously sitting in the kitchen for a while. Sigh. While the mgr was very nice, I fear going back...so won't. Well, maybe for the mango margherita. SO good.

I used to be a regular....
I used to come here all the time and the food was always great. I don't know what's happened (new management?) but the last few times I've been here the food is bland and nondescript. It's too bad. Hey new management... get your act together!

Forgettable!
Food here was forgettable, fair at best. While it wasn't bad, it was nothing special, and lacking any kind of distinct, memorable flavor. Overall it was dull. Most dishes needed a little something extra. In a way it felt a bit like a chain restaurant and not food cooked with a passion or great culinary skills. Tamales were bland, chicken with rice was just ok and a bit dry, Shrimp empanadas appeared to have tiny canned shrimp not fresh shrimp! No excuse for that! Coconut shrimp app. was one of the better choices as were the black beans and sweet plantains. I wouldn't go back.

Totally Disappointed
A friend and I were looking forward to a nice lunch. We ordered sodas and got 3/4 glass of ice with a few sips of soda. When we asked for more soda without this time around, what we got soda that was bitter and tasted like medicine. Was not worth complaining again. Food was mediocre. Although only four tables were occupied the server was not attentive. Won't be going back again!

Watch out for the hostess.
I have been to several Cuban places that claim to be an authentic Cuban restaurant. This place is authentic, but small. The food was cuban, but the music wasn't. Not that it was a big deal, but when you have your mother with you who is a true blue Cuban to the end, it is! Our waitress was very nice and the food was tasty. The restaurant it self is very small and can get tight quickly. Our server was also very kind. The only really bad thing that concerned me was the Hostess. When we first walked in I told her we had a reservation, not to mention I also got there 30 minutes early. She asked us "How long are you planning to eat?" I couldn't believe my ears! That was very rude. On that alone I would not go back, at least to this havana central. I am planning on visiting the other ones some time soon.

Not the good Havana Central!
We've eaten at all the Havana Central locations and this has to be the worst in both taste and service. We had multiple problems with our order and found the waitress to be unsympathetic and insincere in her apology when we had addressed the issues with her about the food, she even had the audacity to incorrectly challenge which side dish came with one of the meals (and the side dish came late after we pointed out its absence). For our inconvenience we received 2 for 1 drink coupons (yay?). After this experience we will not return to this location.

Decent cuban food
Took my wife for new year's. Food was good, drinks are great. When it was time to pay our bill, i told them, that i had a restaurant.com gift certificate. To my horror, the bill came with some additional tax and a gratuity of 22% included. So, in the end my gift certificate went to pay for the gratuity. I think they ripped me off. Be careful
