They were so professional and kind for my whole family including my aging parents. Try Seafood paella which was enough for two people with salad. Many restaurants use pre-cooked rice, and mix them with seafood when you order it. This is simply wrong because you will not be able to taste ?THAT? in your rice. In Harvana Central, paella was cooked in individual portion with small cooker, and it is the right way to do it. Don?t forget to try some Cuban desserts, too. Tourists should stop by this place instead of dozens of rip-off places around Times square.

Wow - Finally Havana meet Times Square

You are greeted outside of the restaurant by the maitre'd who escorts you to your seat. There is a bar to the right and tables to the left. There is a half wall between the bar and the tables so you don't have to worry about the people who are drinking and socializing bumping into you. There were 9 people in our party, so we had a semi private room in the back. It was still out in the open but the area can actually hold about 15-20 people. There are curtains on the side which can be drawn if you want more privacy. There is also an upstairs area. Now to the food. First we had appetizers - chicken fingers, coconut shrimp, empanadas and calamari. Dinner - chopped pork chops with rice and beans, chicken with rice, steak, jumbo shrimp and an excellent seafood stew in a very light sauce. Paella is on the menu - chicken, meat or vegetable - your choice. There is enough on the menu to suit anyone's palate. I would highly recommend it. The music was a little loud and there were a lot of people at the bar (it was Friday night), but, it did not distract from the food. - Two thumbs up! The only regret - no room for dessert!

    Great new find

Being that I am a resident as well as an employee of the Times Sq area, my co-workers and I are constantly looking for a new place to go to for a good tasting, quick, reasonably-priced, friendly, and nearby lunch. I just so happened to come across "Havana Central" on a day when my wallet, as well as my stomach, were both pretty empty. Immediately I was impressed by the service of the staff who sat us, and then took our order. They were friendly, fast and courteous. The menu is quite traditional and is able to provide something for everyone; even the health-conscious like myself. The place is very clean and new looking with a "South American-style" atmosphere. I was very happy with my meal as well as my bill, and have been recommending the place to all of my friends ever since. Definitely a great addition to Times Square.

    A great value

You can't do better before a show. Good food for low prices and at lunch you can order from the "Rapido" menu that promises to serve your food in 15 minutes.

    Real Cuban Food

I was immediately transformed to Havana by the music and tall palm trees. The greeting and service was 'over the top' and the food was simple, pure and really Cuban - no frills. The homemade empanadas and freshly made mojitos are addictive. Castro would love it!
