    Reviews are right

My girlfriend had been raving about this place that she had taken groups of 6+ to before (how good the food/service/drinks were). So, we decided to look up reviews about it on this site. I was a little skeptical about all the negative reviews regarding how pushy the staff was etc. Well, I'm sorry to say...they were all right on. Upon our arrival we discovered they had lost our reservation. Not too bad considering that we were sat within a reasonable time (20-30min). However, the lead host continued to remind us that we didn't have a reservation. Turns out there were two other groups at the bar who also had had their reservations lost too. They left instead of waiting. The mojitos and sangria were good - however I their rum selection did leave a little to be desired. The server did seem as though she was trying to rush us as she returned every minute after we received our menus to see if we were ready to order. She even advised us to order apetizers because the food would take a while to prepare - which we did. Ten minutes later our food (along with our apetizers arrived). The food was 'okay.' Not bad. Nothing misleading in the descriptions (other than there were no pickles on the Cuban Sandwich!). After dinner we ordered dessert and coffee (which the waitress offered). The desserts were not nearly as good as the food and I don't recommend them. After the dessert we promptly got our check, paid, and were in the process of signing our credit card receipts and determining gratuity when the lead host appears and asks us to leave because he needs the table. We felt uncomfortable most of the time and being rushed out of the restaurant before even signing our credit receipts was just rude. After reading the reviews on other sites I think this place probably was really great about a year or so ago (before word got out). However, the management doesn't seem to be coping with success very well and this has translated into a feeling of being unwelcomed guests at

I made reservation for Valentine's Day . I spected to have a beautiful night, but it was not like that at the bigining we waited the table more than an hour resevation at 7 .00 pm and seated al 8.10 pm , the service was too fast,. we could not enjoy our meals, company and the music, and the check it was in front of us less than a hour. poor experience . we never going to come back again. not recomemded to nobody to somebody to want to have a romantic night.

    Good Cuban Food

The oxytail entree was delicious but expected more meat than bones. The live Latin music made it worth the while to visit again some time in the near future.

    Our favorite NYC restaurant

My fiance and I dine here whenever we have a date night in the city. We have been here numerous times and are always very pleased. One of our favorite dishes is an appetizer called Fufu Con Comarones. It's mashed fried green plaintains with shrimp and garlic. We enjoy it so much that we asked for the recipe so we could include it on our wedding menu and to our surprise the chef came out himself, sat with us and wrote out the recipe. And we both always get their sangria, it's delicioous without being too sweet. The wait staff have always been nice and never rush us out of there. All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is good. Delivery is spotty

I've gotten some great traditional Cuban from these guys. But their delivery times are misleading--it seems to be based on more of a whim, and whether they want to stop delivering an hour earlier or not.

Even with a reservation, don't go on a Sat. night. Don't be surprised when you are asked to hurry up and leave even when you have not had dessert because they need your table for the next guests. We will not be back.

Went there with a friend a few days ago. The service was great but the food was very average, no flavor. The dessert looked nice but tasted like nothing. Personally I would not go back there again. I'm a guy who likes to eat and the serving size was very little, especially the desserts.
