    Excellent cuban food..

Let me start by saying that it was a Rainy Sunday and we called for reservations they told us we didn't need one since it was really slow. Sure enough though when we got there they asked if we did and of course not, but they did everything to accomodate us. (honestly the restuarnat was full to capacity) Thank God they did. Not only are we Cuban, but we also live in Miami so we know good cuban food. Let me tell you this place is excellent. My husband had the oxtail, my daughter the palomilla and I had the Vaca Frita and it was excellent. The Sopa de Chicharro was excellent also. Now let's talk about the service it was as great as the food. Our waiter was supurb. In fact, my husband and I will be back in November and are already making plans to have dinner or maybe brunch. We are hooked.

    Not about the food

Great atmoshere and service. If you like the food, even better. Went with group of 8 and half of us thought food was average.

    Most accomodating!

I had made a reservation for a group of 25, and man were they accomodating to our needs! We had the beautiful back room with the drapes, and everything was well put together. As soon as the manager found out we were celebrating a store opening, he came over and greeted everyone and made sure throughout the dinner that we were taken care of. Talk about VIP service! We stayed for about 4 hours just drinking and mingling with the waiters who were awesome too. Would very much recommend it for groups and it looks like a nice place to take a date.

    Great place for a date

I took my girlfriend here and it was fantastic. The sangria was tasty and refreshing, the steak was excellently cooked, and the black beans, rice, and plantains were delicious. And I'm from Miami, so I've had lots of cuban food in my life. The best part was that it was open until 1am so we could sit there enjoying our meal long into the night.

    Fantabulous place

My partner and i were in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try...thank God we did. its our fave spot now. from the first time we walked thru the door until today, we get top notch service and personal attention from the host and staff. the food is anything but boring and bland, the decor is simple and the outdoor patio area is the best in the summer. i have not one complaint about this place! well worth every penny!

    Love this place!

My fiance and I went there for dinner on 04/30/06. I was impressed with the reviews posted here, and decided to go check it out. Oh, my! After being in this restaurant, it's very hard to go anywhere else. They treated us like royalty. It's customer service at its best! We were greeted by the general manager. When we told him that it was our anniversary, he offered us champagne for a toast. The waitress was also very nice. The food was delicious. Though I think the cazuela could use a little more spices, because it was a bit bland. But the oxtail was to die for. Our appetizers were also very good. My fiance had the calamari, and he loved it. I had empanadas habaneras, and it was also good. For dessert I had tres leches, and my fiance, the chocolate cake. The tres leches was ok, but the chocolate cake was really good. The extra touch was that they served us our desserts decorated with a Happy Anniversay across the plate and a sparkle, and they sang to us. These people were so nice, they made our anniversary feel even more special to us. I can't wait to go back there. I want to try the ropa vieja the next time because the guy sitting next to us told me that his was delicious. And did I mention the prices were great? If you like Cuban cuisine, but haven't been to Havana yet, I think you should go.

    Great food,cozy atmosphere

Make a reservation-we arrived about 5:30 on a saturday without one-they were booked, but accomodated us after letting us know they needed the table in an hour. Best sangria I've ever had. I'm still craving the roasted ear of corn appetizer, and my salmon sandwich was simple and fresh. You can have a full meal here or a simple bite, either way the prices are reasonable, the quality is high, and the atmosphere makes you want to relax and enjoy.
