Poor service
After reading many positive reviews we decided to dine at this restaurant as we love Cuban food. Our experience at this restaurant was below acceptable. Our waiter rushed us from the minute we sat down. Before we even got settled he wanted our drink order. We asked for a menu of their drink specials. Within less than three minutes he asked for the order three times. Once we received the dinner menu he hovered over us waiting for the order. We hadn't even gotten water or our drinks at this point. Once the food arrived we found it to be bland, tasteless and the pork was very dry. As soon as we finished he whisked away the plates and wanted our dessert order. We didnt want to prolong this dinner any longer. We left him a 15% tip due to the poor service. He counted the tip money in front of us and told us we didn't leave him enough tip! Really? I have NEVER experienced this before in a restaurant. We will not be going back to this restaurant. There are other Latin restaurants that appreciate their patrons.

Nice plus live music
Our waiter was so nice and spent time telling stories, even though he appeared to be handling quite a load; he appeared authentic Cuban. Food was good -- my ropa was served up inside plantain with rice'n'bean side. Drinks were nice with MOJITO "garnished with sugar cane" a nice touch! Full-wall painting was a nice touch. The 2-person band drew some applause; and yet we could talk so not over amplified.

Awesome mojitos!
I had a great time here with a couple friends. The food was delicious and the mojitos were great! It's a nice spot for a date, candlelit and cosi.

Dissapointing Valentine's Day Dinner
Went for a Valentine’s Day dinner and expected a normal menu as provided by their website. However, upon entering the only option given was a $60 per person Valentine’s Day menu consisting of a few bland meals. Guests were practically forced to order from this menu. The food was not to par with the cost. There were three appetizers available and just four or five entrees. The desert consisted of a choice of two dishes. The service was mediocre. The $60 course also included a choice of drinks of either a sangria, mojito, or a bottle of wine. We elected to try the sangria. I must say that the sangria was well made, and that was all that was well made. The food was average and was no in way worth the outrageous and unpredicted cost. Had the restaurant warned their guests of their specific Valentine’s Day menu I would not have went there. This is not my first time attending Valentine’s Day dinners, but it is certainly my last time at the Havana Alma de Cuba. Furthermore, for the same $120.00 + tax + tip meal you can easily find yourself at a much better restaurant and certainly with better food.

Good food....but can't say the same for the service.
The food is good but the staff rushed us, putting the check on the table while we were still eating dessert and were told they had another party coming so we couldn't order another pitcher of sangria. There are plenty of restaurants in NYC with equally good food so who needs to be treated so poorly?

Bergenline Avenue Its Not
Allways looking fo a good Cuban sandwich and I did not find it here. If you order one take half of one side and add it to the other, you will now have an Ok half Cuban sandwich.
