    Finally I found my spot!

My boyfriend and I went here last night to settle our random Thursday night sushi craving. I have been meaning to come here since I saw "box of dreams" on their website. So I ordered and my boyfriend ordered the sashimi delux. My box of dreams was just that,DREAMY!!! Every single box was perfect! Fresh sashimi, elegant decor, Japanese staff and chefs...it was awesome. I am going back every month to have my box. I am sure everything else is wonderful as well. If you are looking for a good sushi & sashimi place by real Japanese peeps, you gotta check out here. It's not cheap but what really is in NYC!!!

    My fav sushi place

Found this restaurant very randomly when I first started to eat sushi a few years back. Sushi is great & it's my favorite sushi place. I've brought many people here & they all have loved it.

    Top Notch

I have been a regular patron of Hatsuhana for 3 years now for two very simple reasons - top quality, delicious food and impeccable service. The sushi is extremely fresh and top notch and the sides / salads are great too including a great seaweed salad consisting of several different kinds of fresh seaweed - unlikely the typical premade stuff drenched in sesame oil. There are some interesting and tasty hot dishes as well though I generally stick with the sushi / sashimi. Decent selection of beer and sake as well. Hatsuhana has a simple, pleasant atmosphere. Always clean & well lit - not the best place for a 1st date or those seeking a "scene." Definitely a place I would feel comfortable taking clients. As I said before, service is impeccable - you are greeted by both the sushi chefs and wait staff upon arrival and the waiters are knowledgable and tend to you in a diligent yet unobstrusive manner.

    Sushi lover's paradise

Everything at Hatsuhana is straight to the point. They always have a great variety of the freshest fish. Their toro is also much tastier and less expensive than most other places I've been to. The service was rather pleasant too, despite the dinner rush. Admittedly, the decor was somewhat on the bland side but it evoked a very crisp and clean feeling, which is very important at a sushi restaurant. Overall, I would say that Hatsuhana is still easily one of the best sushi shops in town.

    Great food/tableware - bland decor

The doorman was sullen so off to a poor start - but waitresses friendly and welcoming. The decor is the worst part - absolutely bland like an office. The tableware (plates, cups, pottery containers) was original and good! The food was excellent and freshly prepared right in front of you. I recommend this for the food and welcome, but not for decor.
