    good old school real japanese

They serve real Japanese cuisine at very reasonable price (for the quality) and the atmosphere is unpretentious. Their lunch is a great deal. I've heard some customers saying they could eat MORE sushi for the same price or less nearby, but I'm not sure if

Standard seems to be going down

I've been coming to Hasaki for many years and it's always been one of my favorite places in the neighborhood. But recently my sense is the quality of the food seems to have slipped a notch - everything is just ok now.

    Disappointed

We have been here many times but this visit was very lackluster. Miso soup was tasteless. Added tofu sauce to add flavor. Chirashi was only fair with very skimpy fish portions. Una ju was pretty good. Maybe Monday is not their best night

    Get the miso soup

The kitchen and sushi bar are strong, producing traditional fare at a high level. My favorite dishes are the red miso soup, steak Japanese, and sashimi/sushi. If you sit at the bar and order the real omakase, served a piece at a time and priced by consump

    Spend your money elsewhere

Although the food was ok, staff was not accommodating to any dietary restrictions- they repeatedly put shrimp in my friends order when he specified an allergy and would not let him change more than one thing on a sushi platter with 16 pieces!!! Their pret

    Never been disappointed

As a Japanese food lover in NYC, I visited many Japanese restaurants. Hands down, this is the best as far as food goes. Yes the service is a bit sketchy and the atmosphere not so special, but who cares when you are getting a fabulous meal at a fabulous p
