    Amazing Sushi

The sushi here is consistently amazing! My husband enjoys the tuna steak. It's pretty good value for the quality and quantity of the rolls. We keep coming back.

    Consistenly excellent

Excellent service, high-quality sushi, and overall good consistency keeps me coming back to this place all the time. Slightly pricey for the atmosphere but definitely worth it when you get a seat outside.

    Good enough

I found Haru to be just fine, passable, overpriced but not terribly so. I've only eaten there once though. This is certainly adequate.

    Not good

I've had some bad experiences here. Sour fish... Even when the fish is fresh, it is so upper west side mediocre. It is a poor value, spending all that money on a lame dining experience.

    Awesome

This place is so good. I actually live in the east village but I'm willing to make the trip. Many of the sushi places I've been to in nyc have been a real disappointment, either not too fresh or not worth the price. Haru though has really large portions and is consistently fresh and yummy. The prices are your typical sushi prices and the quality is superb.

    Good Choice

Haru is probably your best bet for Japanese food on the Upper West side. Whether you want something simple like chicken teriyaki, good Miso Soup or some really really great sushi, you would definately love Haru. It is an awesome setting, giving you the choice to sit at a table or right up at the sushi bar, and a very friendly place. It is where I go if I want some Japanese food, and if you want some too, I highly recommend Haru.

Good food v.s. rush, rush, rush.

The food is very good. I think the atmosphere is cool and perfect for a little sushi place in the neighborhood. My only complaint and I have felt it more than five times- is that they rush, rush, rush you. Wow- Once I felt as though I had eaten in 15 minutes- mind you I did get in a second drink order in there. But crazy-push-you-out-the-door-service. Good food but kapow- you will eat so fast!
