Beautiful decor and great service, food overpriced
Sushi was decent but too expensive. Our server Dennis was great though. Also atmosphere is beautiful.

Overpriced
This place is way overpriced for the amount and quality of sushi they serve. I can and I do get better better sushi at my local ShopRite supermarket. I've never seen rolls as small as they serve at Haru. Don't waste your time and money, there are better sushi places than that.

Disappointing birthay dinner
Overripe avocado, rolls fall apart, overpriced and clueless waiter.

Save your money
I’m always looking for great sushi in Manhattan, as I’ve been a sushi lover for the last two decades. Recently we moved to the FiDi area of Manhattan and started to look for some local good restaurants. Sushi was first on my must list. Luckily I learned that there was a Haru down the block – and I was only excited for the amount of time it took me to get my first delivery. While the delivery was fast and easy through Seamless Web, the sushi was among the worst I’ve had anywhere. The sushi rolls were bland, with stale rice and small flavorless fish. Even my 7-year-old (who has been eating sushi for most of his life) thought this fish tasted like crap. I tried to be optimistic even though I’m skeptical of chains, but there was no validation. We even gave them a chance with some of their fancier rolls. We spent about $60 for crap sushi that would have been better at Sushi Boy or the grocery store. Save your money and go anywhere else but here.

Good Fresh Food and Great Service
This place was great. Very quiet atmosphere and good decor. The service was excellent. The manager, Chris, was extremely accommodating to a large party from the initial reservation. The wait staff were very attentive from the beginning with hot towels, water and after with cutting/servicing our cake. The food especially fish was extremely fresh. The value was decent for a Japanese restaurant in downtown Financial District.

the worst sushi I ever had
After reading all of the good reviews I was expecting much more. . I would never order from Haru again. It was disgusting and what pissed me off the most was spending $50 on food that sucks. I should've stuck with the cereal I had in my cabinet. What a waste! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that knows good sushi.
