Haru Sushi

Was a loyal customer. But looking elsewhere these days.
I've been a big fan of Haru for years. Though it is a bit pricey, I've thought the food and service were worth it. I generally stop in to the 48th st. location once a month and order takeout up to twice a week.
The past two months, there's been a weir

whats with the spicy mayo?
My wife and I are nuts about sushi and we owe it all to Haru. When we met and began dating a few years ago, she wouldn't touch raw fish and thanks to my pushing and the great appeal of Haru, we love it all the time. The only problem I have is that their

Quality everytime
I have never had a problem with any of their food, and actually have found them to be a really good go-to Sushi place. I first came across them on SeamlessWeb when my boss had me order from there for a meeting. Everything was actually really delicious a

Misleading menu prices
First off, I do love Haru and their sushi. BUT, today me and friends at work ordered a ton of sushi, and were confused about why we were being charged over $20 more than the menu stated. Apparently, we were looking at the third avanue menu, as opposed to

Totally Average
Average food, weak drinks and way over-priced food. What's the point?

VERY GOOD FOR LUNCH IN MIDTOWN
I eat here once a week for lunch. Not that I have many options for sushi in a close vicinity to my office, but its good for what it is. I wouldnt get too fancy there but for basic sushi and salads its good. The shrimp and mushroom sumai are very good too.

I don't get it
Good if you like rolls, I guess. Nothing to set it apart from the 100s or other sushi places that slop together gimmicky rolls.
Go only if you have no other options. Maybe take tourists there for the "scene". Go elsewhere if you want real sushi.

Great Saki, Poor Raw and Cooked Food
No joke, I cant believe how bad Haru has become. It used to be a staple in my weekly lifestyle, but even take out places have better quality cold/hot food.
I just read a review how its "cool" to dis on Haru... the food just isnt good anymore and there
