Eh. Cheap food that will fill you up.

I stopped in a few nights ago with a friend who was craving Mexican food. Mike served us and was really nice, and the food was decent, even though it took a really long time. Nothing that will make you stop and say, "wow," but what do you expect for the prices. I had chimichangas, which are pretty hard to mess up. I give atmosphere a 4 because there is outside patio seating. The only thing I really didn't like were the margaritas, which were god awful. Overall it's fine if you just want some cheap food.

    Mediocre

Waited 45 minutes for two burritos for take out. The salsa tasted unabashedly of tomato paste. The chips seem to be out of a bag. Not returning.

    Bad Takeout Experience

Recently ordered takeout. Food arrived cold. Nachos were nothing more than chips sprinkled with cheese. Fish in the Fish Tacos smelled spoiled and needed to be thrown away. Called to let Harry's know the fish seemed bad and were they were, at best, indifferent. Although we did not ask for a credit, the manager preemptively declined to offer one as we appeared uninterested in dining with them again!

    A Bad-A$$ Margarita!

I recently moved to the area and was pleasantly surprised by this place's food and happy hour margarita specials. Their bartender Travis is incredibly friendly (as is the clientele) and he never seems to forget a face, name or preference. I don't eat meat so I absolutely LOVED their bean burrito and vegetarian tacos. Their guac is a little meh, but it could just be that I got the mass produced batch and not freshly made. You can't beat the value for the area, but that's not saying much! A $5 happy hour margarita, though = priceless.

    Improved

Harry's seems to have improved. Whoever is making its grilled tofu burrito deserves a medal.

Tasty food at a good price

I go to Harry's when I need a cheaper priced meal when going to the movies or Lincoln Center area events. The portions are good and the price is fair. I have always been pleased with the meal and have never experienced the slowness of service mentioned in reviews from others. I thought the wait was normal enough. Although I seem to be there when it is not really busy, so perhaps that helps. It is a bit rude that they charge for their chips and salsa considering they are nothing special and most mexican places give you chips and salsa for free as part of the meal.
