The best BBQ in NYC
Wow. Had the best dining experience ever. Found this BBQ Joint over the weekend. What a little gem, decor and ambience all were spot on. The food is amazing. The wings are meaty and fall off the bone, Meatloaf is a home run, way too much food for one person. Root veggies and Mac n cheese were great also. Drinks were nice and strong, beer in chilled mugs. I'm telling everyone I know about this place. And to beat it all, it's not too expensive. Well done Harley's.

Best BBQ in town.
I pride myself on being a BBQ expert. My parents are from the south an I grew up on shrimp , grits, ribs and catfish. Visited this place on a reccomendation of a good friend . WOW what a place. From the outside to the inside , what a great looking restaurant. I'm sure no experience spared on the decor. But what I was really here for was the food. We were greeted by nearly all the staff , which is a nice touch. We sat under the big wagon wheel in the main dining room. I had a draft beer which was iced and chilled in a mug. We ordered app sampler with ribs wings and Texas lollipops. Holy smokes what a great combo, everything was cooked and smoked to perfection. I had the spare ribs which were awesome , slow smoked and the meat was perfectly marbleized which fell off the bone. Sides were great also mac n cheese is like mom used to make simple and creamy and the bacon potato salad was a nice touch also. The service and the atmosphere were second to none . When we got our bill , I was surprised that it was quite reasonable for all the food we had ( even left with doggie bags) compared to some of the other BBQ restaurants in NYC. All in all a great dining experience and we will be back regularly. Thanks Harley's.

Finally a decent restaurant in East Harlem
Title says it all. Good sized portions for money. Interesting side dishes and apps. The good we ordered was all very good. We will be back. As for the reviewers who say the drink prices are too high, they have obviously never had an alcoholic beverage in a restaurant below 116th street. Cheapest beer I've had in a NYC restaurant in a while.

Good food but....
The food here is quite good....the ribs and pulled pork are as good as any bbq in NYC. The drink prices however will keep me from becoming a regular......expensive for anywhere in NYC but especially so for East Harlem. Bring down the drink prices and I'll be in far more often.

Good food, good atmosphere, expensive drinks
I can't speak to everything on the menu, but they do offer a great chicken dinner, a delicious burger and the pulled pork is pretty nice. The ribs have been both outstanding and disappointing (depending on the cut and the day I was there), and other menu items look like they are probably delicious. Everything is a little on the pricey side, but the portions are big and you don't leave hungry. My one big complaint - the cost of the beer. I can go to a bodega around the corner and buy a six-pack of Blue Moon for $10. Why are they selling one bottle of Blue Moon for $7? Their happy hour drink specials are also weak - $3.50 for a bottle of Bud is what I should be paying when it isn't happy hour. And a chilled mug of Bud Light, which isn't even a pint, for $4 during happy hour? That's highway robbery. The rest of the beer menu is equally as pricey. Bring down the price of the beer and you've got yourself a great new neighborhood restaurant. Or go and skip the drinks - you won't be disappointed with the food. But if drink while you dine, don't say you weren't warned when the bill comes and your Harpoon IPA was the same price as your burger.
