    BAD BAD

not only is everything ridiculously overpriced, the staff is obnoxiously rude and inattentive. i will not be back. i thought that the view would be worth dealing with the problems other reviewers mentioned---well, it's NOT. seriously, enjoy the view from the pier but stay away from this tourist trap wasteland. i would rather have bought a beer and thrown my money into the water.

    Such a shame!

I really wanted to like this place, but have decided they depend on one-time tourists. Long waits for someone to seat us, table set up with no top cloth, bad food, indifferent service. I was AMAZED to read in the Times that they are owned by the Rosie O'Grady people. Shame!

    FrozenFoodCentral

There is no way anyone would leave this place a satisfied customer. The view was nice, but that was it. The food and service were horrible. My boyfriend had the salmon...which was frozen and overcooked, on a bed of frozen spinach. I had the lobster ravioli, also frozen...and they don't even bother to make sauce! When we complained about our food being unedible, the manager didn't dispute the fact that we had just paid a ton for frozen food, and offered to amend the situation by buying us a drink.

    Not worth it

This place is a rip-off. My husband and I, and many others, went to Harbor Lights Restaurant on the Fourth of July because we were led to believe that we could view the fireworks here against the backdrop of the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge which they have a great view of. They charged a special $75 pre-fixe menu for this occasion to sit on their deck and view the fireworks. In fact, when the fireworks started, only brief cut off glimpses of the fireworks could be viewed. We should have been tipped off by the fact that the waiters collected everybody's credit cards before we were served because they said in past years people rushed off to see the fireworks without paying their bills. The only thing going for this restaurant is their beautiful view. The food is ordinary and expensive. We will never go here again.

    Poor service

I decided to take a close friend out for dinner on his birthday, and set about on finding a restaurant with views of Olafur Eliasson's NYC Waterfalls. Harbour Lights popped up as the obvious choice, and sure enough, the view on two of the falls was perfect. Too bad that was the only good thing about our experience at this otherwise horrid restaurant! We ordered a raw bar sampler as an appetizer...and although the shrimp were good, the oysters and clams were just poor... and for $38, it was an overpriced joke. Our waiter was perhaps the rudest service person I have ever encountered, and he broke just about every rule known in the book. He even stood over me waiting for me to sign my credit card slip while talking on his cell phone! Service was also incredibly slow....food was mediocre...and the experience is definitely something my friend and I will be laughing about for years to come. We left and went to Matsuri for dessert. Thank goodness we had a sweet ending to an otherwise whack evening.

    unpleasantly surprised

The view from the outdoor seating is really beautiful; other than that, however, I don't have much positive to say about the restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips ($18), and it was hands down the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was thick, tough, and almost rubbery, and the batter didn't work well: it was soggy on the inside. The "chips" were unimpressive as well--basically no better than any run of the mill chain restaurant. I would not recommend this establishment other than for the exceptional view of the bridge.
