Called Happy Wok to put a order in Friday night 1/16/09. I used to order from them three times a week with my roomie's and spend over $50.00 weekly- not anymore! I called to put in an order around 8ish and "momma" wok answered and I starting putting in my order- I asked her if I could add carrots and corn to my steamed broccoli and her reponse was I am too busy for this and hung up (I swear- I was being nice as I always am). So I called back and then "poppa"wok answered. I said I don't know what happened but "momma" wok hung up on me. He replied "what do you need"- I said I would like to order steamed broccoli with brown sauce (which is on their menu) and add carrots and corn- he replied carrots and corn? like he didn't understand. Then he hung up on me. I called back a third time (momma wok answered) and said I order from you all the time, why are you hanging up on me- her reponse was to hang up. I understand when people are busy customer service is not always up to par, but come on this was just plain rude and stupid on their end. I will never order from them again because of how rude they were- no excuses, even if your busy.

you can eat at this place if you want, but mostly it's just take out. i think they have the best lo mein in the east village.

So far I've tried three chinese takeouts in this area - one on Ave.B, the one on 14th btwn Ave.A and Ave.B (the name escapes me), and happy wok. Now I'm not saying happy wok is hands down terrific, but I do think it's the best of the three choices. I've never had trouble with delivery, but I only live half a block away.

Greasy average chinease food, nothing stands out, tofu dishes are good. I have never gotten sick from their food and I eat itt often enough. It is run by a family and if the weather is not good, and you dont order a large amount she will refuse to deliver it.
