I've been going to Hane for lunch for over a year now and have to agree w/ the other reviewers: this place is great. While it's not the best sushi youll ever eat, it is pretty damn good, and it is pretty damn good for the price. Also, another thing I prize about it is its consistency. I've been to tons of places where only occasionally I'll get a great meal. At hane, not only was the food consistently very good, but also the service. Efficient, friendly, but you never feel rushed. Great place. Lunch special is also quite a bargain.

For about $9 you get a tasty miso soup, an absolutely wonderful salad, and whatever entree you've chosen - I've tried most and none have disappointed - all served by a very efficient and pleasant staff. Dinner entrees cost about twice as much as their lunch counterparts so it's not as a great a value but still worth it.

I never would have expected this neighborhood sushi place to be good so good. The service is awesome, and the food is really good, especially for the price. The beef negamaki is the best I've had, and they have some really cool rolls. The owner is also really nice and accomodating. The place is pretty tiny, so you may want to make a reservation on a weekend night.

It is very apparent that hane sushi has the best food I have ever tasted! Their mix of japanese and french cuisines sent my tastebuds on a fieldtrip! Now THIS is what I call "fusion". They have tons of great food! I especially love their mango prawn salad and, as said below, their spicy tuna rolls - fried on the outside. Their service is great, waiters and waitresses always smiling and working their hardest, it's even better when there are less people in the restaurant, but even when the place is packed, they still get through! Reasonably priced and exquisitely presented, they are on my top ten list of new york city restaurants!

The spicy tuna is great (it's the one that the other reviewer mentioned - fried on the outside). Also the house salad is really good - unbelievable dressing.

The sashimi here is so good that we went back 3 times in one week. They also have some delicious rolls - try the Tuna roll that is fried on the outside - I think it's only on the picture menu. Also, if they have it, the Aji sashimi is amazing - the presentation is beautiful and the fish was sublime. Not something I'd tried before but so glad I did. I eat a lot of sushi and this place is better than Yama, and also reasonably priced (and you don't have to wait 2 hrs to get in). I even went on a Sunday, a risk with sushi, and everything was still delicious.
